Would you like to be instantly notified whenever someone flags you responds to one of your posts?
Would you like to be instantly notified when you get FReepmail? Well look no further than this!

Just click on that, and one should pop up.
Save this URL as a bookmark (in your Internet Explorer) named "Free Republic," and you should be able to start up the "pager" window every time you log on to FR.
JohnRob created this (I think) in order to save system resources, with this "pager" you don't need to use the full "self-search" feature anymore.

I have a question which sort of fits in here. I was gone for the weekend (away from my computer), but read the lead article in the paper, I believe originally from the Washington Post about alleged conflict between the admin. & the military, causing Taliban targets to escape annihilation. I've been trying to find the article here. I've been backtracking, through 50 posts, back through the next 50 posts, etc. I finally got through todays posts, only to find very few posts for Sunday, Nov. 18th. In other words, I can't find the article! I've read the article, but I really wanted to see what everyone here has to say about it. I did key word searches -- Taliban, military, red tape, Pentagon, and I CAN'T FIND IT! Does anyone have any ideas?

Well, it didn't work. And I got no ping, so I ain't got that swing. I bookmarked the provided link on "favorites". I already have Free Republic bookmarked, of course. The new URL is listed as "Notification". But when I click on it, all I get is a grey screen that says "nothing new". What have I left out of this equation?

all I get is a grey screen that says "nothing new".You leave that little screen up, it's your pager. You can minimize it while you use other windows teo look at other posts. It's actually not instantaneous, but every minute or so it automatically updates.

If you're there, can you ping me?
To: MinuteGal
Leave it open, but minimize it on your desktop.

FYI

For bookmarking at work ping!
This means I will actually let a popup stay on my computer screen for more than half a second.
