What has happened to Free Republic

Has anyone noticed that the Liberal influence has spread here into Free Republic. I notice that less and less Conservatives seem to post here, and more and more Libertarians seem to be.
I get a letter from someone named NYpeanut who is mad because I posted a discussion based on the Gender Gap in voting.
I didn't make it up, there is really a huge Gender gap with Female Voters tending toward the more liberal candidate. The discussion went well without name calling, but this person seems to have taken issue to the fact that I pointed out women seem to vote more liberally than men.
All those who are newbies here are considered disruptors, and those who hold a more right-winged view than the average libertarian seem to be kicked out.
Why is this? Is this a Libertarian site now?
I have noticed more and more posters standing up for Abortion, Homosexuality, the Porn Industry and Drugs since I first came to this site back before the 2000 Election.
Are Christian Conservatives(Who make up a large part of the Republican core vote) not allowed here anymore?
Just because one holds to a higher power, and wishes to shape society in accordance with the laws of Almighty God, does not make one a Taliban Milita member.

Some one must protect the un-protected. If your neighbor decides to murder their "born children" are you also going to say that it is the mothers choice and you and I should mind our own business, it's the mothers choice?

You hit the nail on the head when you said shape society.America is not about shaping society, thats what the freedom of churches do.Your church is not my church, you will not tell me what I can or cannot look at.You are free to believe and worship whomever or whatever you like, but don't tell me I gotta fall in line.

drug use, homosexuality and pornogra[phy destroy society? explain to me how two men having sex behind closed doors destroys society? explain to me how someone shooting up heroin behind closed doors destroys society? - (lets not even get to the issue of what causes more detahs every year, uillegal drugs or the legal ones alcohol and tobacco) I think you need to spend a little more time thinking about your own life and choices and a little less time trying to solve the world's ills with your morals and someone else's tax dollars

What I don't understand, is why it has to be "mind altering" to be enjoyed. I'm not picking a fight; I really don't understand. Please enlighten me.

well our founding fathers disagreed with you. You were free to do things as long as they did not harm society. Pornography was regarded as harming society and was prohibited.
The 60's radicals managed to change societies preceptions on right and wrong, but right and wrong have not changed.
There are still some of us who want to take things back the way they should be.

Whew, thank goodness this is only a "What's wrong with FR thread". For a minute there I thought it was going to be another "Harry Potter is the anti-Christ" thread. Thanks.

I am also pro-choice. After the baby is born and grows up, he can then choose if he wants to die.

a six year old child whose body can function outside the womb is not the same as an unborn fetus dependant on the mother for survival ...... I am against abortion as you are - I guess where we differ is I dont see myself as holier-than-thou enough to be making morality decisions for all of society .......
To: thusevertotyrants
No. What I am saying is that each woman should get to make their own choice regarding abortion. Someone else's unborn child is simply not your business
If you can prove when life begins exactly then I am all for a person having free choice prior to that moment. However, since there is no way to prove scientifically one way or another exactly when separate life begins (despite a Supreme Court ruling), then I must give the benefit of the doubt to life and give that life the fundamental right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. If you can prove scientifically when the moment of life begins then the choice is yours prior to that.

Are you completely dim-witted, or only half-witted(don't take it personal). The liberal and the liberatarian political views are about as opposite as you can get. C'mon, do your homework a little better than just whining about something that decided to bounce around inside your head for a while.
