What has happened to Free Republic

Has anyone noticed that the Liberal influence has spread here into Free Republic. I notice that less and less Conservatives seem to post here, and more and more Libertarians seem to be.
I get a letter from someone named NYpeanut who is mad because I posted a discussion based on the Gender Gap in voting.
I didn't make it up, there is really a huge Gender gap with Female Voters tending toward the more liberal candidate. The discussion went well without name calling, but this person seems to have taken issue to the fact that I pointed out women seem to vote more liberally than men.
All those who are newbies here are considered disruptors, and those who hold a more right-winged view than the average libertarian seem to be kicked out.
Why is this? Is this a Libertarian site now?
I have noticed more and more posters standing up for Abortion, Homosexuality, the Porn Industry and Drugs since I first came to this site back before the 2000 Election.
Are Christian Conservatives(Who make up a large part of the Republican core vote) not allowed here anymore?
Just because one holds to a higher power, and wishes to shape society in accordance with the laws of Almighty God, does not make one a Taliban Milita member.

I'm a conservative Libertarian who opposes abortion and wants to shut down the stupid, useless War on Drugs & Liberty right now.
So just deal with it.

In so many ways I agree with you. I love being a woman but am so disheartened by the voting tendencies of my gender. Truly the women's rights movement was a TERRIBLE thing for America and our children. Men don't respect women anymore and women don't care for their children. It's very, very sad. I am a proud stay at home mom who loves cooking and caring for my children. We were not meant to do it all. We were meant to raise productive, independent, honest members of society. Instead we are raising spoiled little criminals and look to government to fix the problems we have caused. Let's get back to true fiscal and social conservatism! God Bless

You got a private letter from somebody named NYpeanut because she is getting sick and tired of a pattern developing here that is dividing conservative men and women. And then you run and tattle to mommy and daddy by posting this whiney vanity; not cool. The very next thing in the replies to this thread will be a bunch of cementheads posting "Repeal the 19th amendment" followed by 86 exclamation points.
Then I will have to post my link to Venn diagrams and deductive logic and point out your lack of education on this area, then six guys will call me a feminazi, then some women will jump to my defense, and then we all hate each other instead of the real enemy.
This is not productive, and if the predicted cementheads promise to drop this right now, I won't go into my stale routine either. Let's concentrate on uniting against the dark side.

Libertarian and liberal are two different things, as you'd have noticed if you'd been here a whole week. What has "happened" is that FR is just as it has always been - contentious, free-spirited, and controversial. "Christian" conservatives don't own it, nor do non-Christian ones. Your opinion is welcome, but please remember that so is everyone else's.

No problem with being yourself anti-abortion. Just hope youre also pro-choice ..... let each make their own choice

Why would anyone fear you, are you a terrorist?
To: FF578
The liberals are crawling back out of their caves. They [gun grabbers in particular] were quieted after '94, quieted again when Bush won, and completely silenced after WTC911. But now that the campaign against terrorist groups of global reach is well underway they have regained their voices to some degree. They also love a weak economy and feel the incipient rebirth of the Comintern.

[sigh], I wish I could write like that...

It took you six whole days to figure this out?

The FACTS are there, WOMEN Vote More Liberal. MEN Vote More Conservative.
If you don't like the Facts, then help change them.

I agree with you. I think it is because the real conservatives don't like being exposed to the often times filthy language that is pointed at them as liberals and ungodly libertarians shout them down. Seems I remember from Jim Robinson's purpose of this board is not to debate these issues since we all know what the conservative stance is. I quote;
In what may be a shock to some and especially to certain liberals and disrupters, Free Republic was not created to "debate" liberal ideas or policy or to allow the liberals and moderates the advantage of setting the subject or tone of the discussion. For example, there is absolutely no need to debate the subjects of homosexuality or racism or federal control over education, health, welfare and the environment, or globalism, or gun control, or social security, or any of the other hundreds of touchy feely causes that our detractors use as bait to trap us and to rob us of our freedom. I'd just as soon none of it even appears on the pages of Free Republic at all, other than to expose the lying politicians and media. Debate on these issues leads only to compromise. And when we are speaking of the larger concepts of equality under the law, separation of powers, self government, Freedom, and Liberty there can be no room for debate or compromise.

"and those who hold a more right-winged view than the average libertarian seem to be kicked out." Au contraire. I am not a Libertarian and consider myself more right leaning than your average Libertarian and have not been kicked out.
Nor do I expect to be, even if I do have to take some left leaning Liberal wanker to task.

I noticed that too, anytime you post something that someone disagrees with, you get shouted down and compared to the taliban.
If I say I support the Drug War, and Anti-Homosexual Laws, and Anti-Abortion Laws, then I will get a hundred posts from Libertarians calling me a Taliban and telling me to get the burquas (sp).
