Another good one is the hyphenated name. Not necessarily so...My dad, a staunch conservative, is married to a woman who kept a hyphenated name...they've been married for over 22 years and counting. :-)

This issue has been discussed in many previous threads, where pretty much all arguable points have been argued. If I could just mention a few that I found salient:
Most black voters are women - about 64 to 66 percent according to most estimates. Black women in the 2000 election voted about 95 or 96 percent Democrat (of the few black Republicans, a majority are men). When you take this into account, you realize that white women are almost evenly divided between Democrats and Republicans. Married white women are more Republican than Democrat.
During the Clinton years, of all single and divorced women, the Democrat-Republican split was about 70-30. This figure includes black women, who are not only disproportionately Democrat but also disproportionately single. Although black Americans are about 12 or 13 percent of the population, black women may make up as much as 20 percent of the single/divorced female electorate. Blacks are the loneliest Americans in domestic terms; about 40 percent of them never marry.
Some posters have discussed the decline of marriage, an issue I take seriously and follow closely. This isn't the time for a long exposition, so may I just say that there are some indications that this bad situation is no longer getting worse, and marriage may even be making something of a comeback. There is some interesting stuff on Mickey Kaus's site kausfiles.com that you might want to read. It describes some indications that the number of children living with their two biological parents has risen slightly, perhaps partly as an effect of welfare reform.

Men think. Woman feel. Absolutely correct. Which is why Democ-rats harp on "feel good" issues. And is also why they "get away" with making false or grossly inaccurate staements. There's nothing wrong or bad with this fact, it's just biology.
This is why we have a dumb down agenda. Stupid people are easy to fool. What I found hilarious though, is how stupid people ruined the election in Florida.
I love my wife. She started out semi-liberal and after 20+ years of marriage she's a thinker and consequently not easily fooled.

This has been a continuing trend since 1980. If the 22nd Amendment had never been passed, Not Only would we not have had to deal with 8 years of Clintoon, at least 10 less Demonrat Senators would be in office today. As I've said before, the passage of the 22nd Amendment probably single-handedly did more to harm our Constitutionally-limited Republic than anything.

Speaking as a woman - I don't know how much this has been raised further in the thread - it seems a bit obvious to me that women have for a few decades been conditioned to think, whether consciously or not, that men are the big bad enemy, that womens' rights groups have all the answers, and what women really need to protect is the so-called right to choose and other such moronic campaigns. So they'll pick whatever candidate best suits that model. In other words, NOW's lobby works, especially if they catch them young enough, with PP in schools etc. Women's Lib run amuck. Which is an oxymoron, if you think about it, since they are instead enslaved by the very groups vowing to liberate them.

Funny, when I meet a guy, I find out if he's a conservative. I figure if he isn't a hard headed, staunch right winger conservative like me, we have nothing further to discuss!
Great. You sound like my type of girl. Where in the country do you live?

I think that consciously or unconsciously women are looking for security. If they can't count on a man of their own (I am one of the lucky ones) they look to the gov. to take care of them. The one liberal woman I know best fits this profile. 3 failed marriages & supporting herself at age 59.
Now lets talk about what makes a man a liberal.

You know, I find it hard to believe that so many people would want to stay single. It stands in the fase of normalcy. Everyone of us, in my opinion, should be seeking for that life partner, the one who gives of himself/herself unselfishly.
Again, I know the problems that the feminazi movement have caused. However, if you're going to find a woman, I'd say that the church is the best place. The same goes for the gals who want to find a good man.
With me, all I want to do is find a great woman, settle down and raise a family with three or four kids. I can't think of anything better.

What is wrong with Female Voters in the United States? 1) Women, in general, are inherently more campassionate than men.
2) Women, in general, don't earn as much as men and, therefore, are more inclined to feel the need for a social safety net.

Almost every woman I know (and I know a lot of them since I am one!) vote strictly on the pro choice issue - and ALL of the women I know vote for the Dems. I am in the minority in the context of my sex and state - I'm from the People's Republic of Massachusetts. I love it here and would never move BUT it is depressing politically.

Reality: Bush won the
European-American women's vote. He also did so well in the South - winning here in 1/4-black North Carolina by 13 points, for instance - that he mathematically must have won virtually all the European-American vote, women included.
The only reason that there appears to be a "gender gap" is that Bush lost virtually all the black vote - of both sexes. The real "gap" in American politics is racial and regional.

Curious in what way you've seen "arch-conservatives" be misogynistic? Can you explain further? Thanks.

I can't honestly say what would make a man a liberal. It is beyond basic logic, too, for men, in our inherent nature, are not liberals.
I have noticed a tendency, though. Of course, many black men are Democratic voters. At least half of them aren't liberal, though, with beliefs that abortion is wrong, taxes are too high, etc. However, they continue to vote for the candidates who support those policies.
Homosexuals are inherently liberals, and they will never change. Their minds are so warped into believing that a man lying down with a man is okay, that they cannot come to believe in traditional, Conservative values.
As far as other Liberal men, I've noticed a regional effect. For example, northeastern men tend to be more liberal, etc., and I attribute this to the effect the feminazi movement has had on them.
Hispanics often vote liberal for the free goodies, mainly because a significant chunk of them are not legal, U.S. citizens. As far as legal Hispanics, a good chunk of them vote Conservatively as they have nothing to hide.
Lastly, moral degeneracy and decay, much like its effect on women, has also led to various men voting liberally.

What's wrong with female voters? That's easy. Most women don't think; they feel. As long as the USA has approximately one half it's voters going to the polls and voting for the politician that makes them feel the best, we're in trouble. Perhaps the original framers of the Constitution DID know what they were doing, huh?

If I had better typing skills I could tell you in detail but let's just leave it to say that you can draw a direct line from when women got the vote to the f'd up mess we are in now. The country was much better run until about 1900 and we kept true to the Constitution and the original principles. The Feds have spent about $4trillion on social programs that have only made the situation worse. If they had been focusing on their real duties 9-11 would never have happened as well as all of the suffering and poverty in this country.

that women have for a few decades been conditioned to think, whether consciously or not, that men are the big bad enemy Very, very true.
To: FF578
Most women think with thier hearts and "feelings", not with thier heads. They do not think about what's good for the nation, only what election ads promoted. What's in it for them, and thier families. Political correctness is high on thier list in thier effort to save the children. They do not have a grasp on the big picture.
Fortunately this is not true of all women. Some of us are pretty smart.
