Hi Joe,

Noticed the interest this morning and I'm not sure how to post properly so I thought I'd pass on to you the state of things as I know today.The fire dept. has stated conclusively that it was arson but will not elaborate to anyone. Belinda is in the hospital again.This has just been too much for her in addition to her physical problems.She was eager to post a "thank you" to all Freepers;she has just been overwhelmed.Could you post a general expression of her gratitude to all those and explain that she has not forgotten and will contact them as soon as possible.As Herb's sister-in-law,I too am so grateful for all of the interest and help.

Yesterday was the 226th birthday of the USMC. I knew Chief was a Marine and I took special time to remember him, silently, as our fallen members of our Marine Corps League who died this year were mentioned by name. I think of Chief often.. When I came over to FR, he was one of the first to welcome me, another Marine...I kept his message on my list of freepmail. I don't intend to delete it ever...

Please give Belinda all of our regrards for her swift recovery... and let her know we are out here for her too.

Thanks for the update. The Chief and his family have been in my thoughts and prayers. So sorry to learn Mrs. Chief is hospitalized again.

The town where I now live is quite small (population about 2700). It has 2 grave yards (later I heard there are really 3).
I went to the 2 grave yards and "visited" with the Fallen Brothers and Sisters.
At exactly 5PM I was "talking" to a 20 year old Marine who died in Korea. I looked to the heavens and shouted Sepmer Fi and asked Chief and all our Brothers and Sisters to watch over our great nation.

Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with Brenda and her family. As if a horrible story could get worse, it has. Let me personally thank Chief and the rest of you veterans for all that you have done and continue to do for this great country of ours. It is because of your actions and bravery that we are able to live the lives we lead, in the manner we wish.
