Gentlemen:
I have read your Nobles and Knaves section in Saturdays paper as well as the article on November 8th referring to former president Clintons speech at Georgetown University.
I was reminded of a story I had read as a child about Philip Nolan, the Man Without a Country. Nolan, having proclaimed at his trial for sedition in 1817 that he never wished to hear of the United States again, was banished to sea aboard a U.S. Naval ship, never to hear the name of the United States or see the country again. He remained on board a U.S. ship until his death in 1863.
Philip Nolans life was highlighted in the story by a stanza from Scotts Lay of the Last Minstrel":
Breathes there the man, with soul so dead, Who never to himself hath said, This is my own, my native land! Whose heart hath ne'er within him burn'd, As home his footsteps he hath turn'd, From wandering on a foreign strand!
If such there breathe, go, mark him well; For him no Minstrel raptures swell; High though his titles, proud his name, Boundless his wealth as wish can claim; Despite those titles, power, and pelf, The wretch, concentred all in self, Living, shall forfeit fair renown,
And, doubly dying, shall go down To the vile dust, from whence he sprung, Unwept, unhonor'd, and unsung.
It is submitted that this describes both Bill Clintons legacy and his epitaph.
Sincerely,
Regards, to all.
Happy birthday to the U.S. Marine Corps.
-clintonism in one easy lesson--
"Has that clinton "legacy" made you feel safer yet?"
Having said that, surely we would not want to inflict Slick on the U.S. Navy for the rest of his life, would we?
An orange jump suit in an unrenovated San Quenton would be more fitting.
Happy birthday to the Corps!
every moving thing ,every individual in New York City came to a complete halt at 11 A.M. for a moment of silence .
Poppies were worn by most everyone ,signifying the tremendous loss of life by the Allies at Flanders field.
Patriotism reigned."The Fighting Irish" were Americans without a hyphen. "Black Jack " Pershing was a hero,as the leader of more than a million of American men sent "overseas" , drove back the enemy from the Argonne Forest and beyond.
Of these million men, one-third suffered death, gas attacks or wounds both mental and physical..
Of course Bill Clinton wasn't alive then .He loathed the military. From the context of his speech ,it is apparent that he loathes the United States as well.
On treason, slightly different "rules" ... but given events such as Sen. Thompson being "rolled" by former Sen. Glenn on DNC aid from China, the handling of former Sec. Bill Richardson on the W-88 warhead, ... the potential ICBM guidance system via LORAL, ... is it any wonder that treason is not ever brought up. Was Janet Reno a brillant choice or what???
After all, do we know who OK'ed the hiring of Craig Livingstone?? Someone on the "public" payroll ... and we can not a straight answer on even the "smallest" detail.
Go figure ... amd many thanks to vacant-LOTT et. al., for the display of the "most deliberative body" in the history of humankind.
Deo Vindice ... Semper Fi
And when they "pass," fish food!
regards
I have come to the conclusion that Bill Clinton will manage to escape justice in this life. I have to be content with the fact that he faces an ultimate judge one day who give him his just desserts for eternity. As far as I know there are no cameras in hell so that will be Clinton's eternity. And that ought to account for something. It is forever and with his ego that surely will be devastating for him.
Semper Fi to all you Marines. We owe our freedoms to the likes of you.God Bless America!
