There are lots of articles out today about this profile released by the FBI. All of them seem to point in a different direction, so here is an opinion you won’t read in the papers or see in the news.

A mature male, educated loner, with grievance against the government, who would take precautions to protect him self. This sounds like an eco-terrorist possibly another Ted Kinsinski who is a flaming liberal that shares the same views as Al Gore.

The obvious question, is Al Gore under investigation? Considering the Supreme Court Building was closed down because of Anthrax contamination, I do not believe this question is out of line. Who else has a bigger grievance against the Supreme Court?

He may hold grudges for a long time, vowing that he will get even with "them" one day. There are probably other, earlier examples of this type of behavior. While these earlier incidents were not actual Anthrax mailings, he may have chosen to anonymously harass other individuals or entities that he perceived as having wronged him.

A caller on a local talk show brought up an interesting point the other day. The letter mentions penicillin instead of Cipro to be taken. This meant to him that the person would tend to be from some third world country where modern drugs like Cipro wouldn’t be available. Come to think about it, how many times have you heard about penicillin being the drug to use for anthrax or anything else lately?

The most obvious thing about the letters is that the writer was disguising his hand writing. One thing that I notice is his style of 'G'. I have never seen a G made like that. Looks like a 6. I don't think this person was taught how to write in this country.

The management people here know the importance of brainstorming sessions in the problem solving process and the posters to this thread have for the most part made it one of the best examples of the potential productiveness of brainstorming to be found anywhere.

The question of whether or not the FBI is monitoring this hefty input has been raised. Because of the FBI's fortress mentality, they may only sift through the "leads" mailed to them. Suggestion: Smother them with emails that include the clickable URL of this thread. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/fr/567593/posts

The "profile" looks like it was copied out of the Profiling 101 text at the academy.

Has anyone speculated that the block printing was done by someone wearing gloves?

I have zero confidence or trust in the FBI. These great sleuths failed to nab the Unabomber until his brother handed him on a platter, despite being tipped off many times of his whereabouts. They basically framed Richard Jewell thanks to their "accurate" profiling measures. They blame Eric Rudolph for several unsolved cases, then conveniently claim he's dead in the mountains somewhere to explain away their utter failure in catching him. Where's old J. Edgar when you need him? He could strap on a dress and figure this out in no time!

New York City Begins Testing Subway for Anthrax

Manhattan hospital worker and Bronx resident Kathy Nguyen, 61, became on Oct. 31 the fourth person to die of inhalation anthrax in the United States. The way Nguyen contracted the disease has puzzled health authorities, who have been tracing her steps over the two weeks prior to her death for any clues.
``We'll be looking at the stops on her subway line,'' said Cohen.

Could be many folks right here on FR. All of us are more or less computer literate. Many have greivances against the government, some are probably loaners, to one degree or antoher. Personally I think it's not a native born Amercian, but someone trying real hard appear like one trying not appear to be one. Although it might be someone born in American to foreign born parents and raised in an "enclave" (ghetto, barrio, etc depending on nationality/ethnicity). Plenty of those which are composed of Arab Muslims or Middle East/Southwest Asian Muslims. Especially around the New York / northeast New Jersey area, as well as Los Angles. Smaller pockets in other places.

has exhibited an organized, rational thought process in furtherance of his criminal behavior.

I guess voters in Miami-Dade and Broward are off the hook.

The implications noted re:

the "box lettering" and

the peculiar slant of the lettering (Arabic is a left-to-right written language, of course),

the use of the European-Middle Eastern for m of the number "1" and

the idiomatic awkwardness of his language ("can not" vs. "cannot"),

all suggest a possible to likely Middle East/ Arabic-language, non-US raised citizen tie.

Please pardon me if this has been mentioned, but I've read this thread twice, it's 3 in the morning here and I am cross-eyed. However, has the fact that "penacilin" is spelled incorrectly been discussed? It should be "penicillin."

The FBI profilers are makinng their assessment based on a statistic of one--the Unabomber.

If they nab this guy, chances are he will be distinctively different than the Unabomber. Then they will statistics of two. It will absolutely blow their minds.

Notice that they didn't say that all the linguistic and orthographic indications are of someone whose native language is not English and which does not use Roman lettering. I've read of other analyses saying 'he' probably wasn't related to the 9/11 activities. I think such a conclusion is unwarranted. You also have to wonder why the person, if he's so high-tech oriented, didn't use a laser or other type of printer to write the letter and address the envelope. Then there would be NO indication of any type of personality except that he or she was someone with access to that type of equipment and knew how to use it. These types of printers can't be identified except through the ink or toner. But that wouldn't identify anyone any more than analyzing the ink of a ball point or the graphite of a pencil.

I won't believe any theory or profile by the FBI that doesn't address the first Florida case and the FACT that the person who died was a nobody who lived close to where Atta asked about crop dusters and whose wife had some of the hijackers in close procimity. That is too much of a coincidence to be pure chance. How did the FBI suspect just happen to pick him out for attack without knowing that he was connected with the terrorists through his wife (a fact that wasn't public knowledge until AFTER the man was infected). This FBI profile is DISINFORMATION. Question: is it the first salvo of a government attempt to keep from having to identify a middle eastern country as the source of this biological attack? Is this going to be a case of "move on"?
