Why is there an Islamic Village in the foothills near Fresno?
KFSN TV 30 Fresno, CA ^ | 11-07-01 | Kevin Quinn

.Why is there an Islamic Village in the foothills near Fresno? There's an airstrip and neighbors complain of gunfire. Kevin Quinn takes you inside Baladullah, California.

Sorry, no transcript as of now. Video only. Worth the effort to view.

The video provides a look at this compound in the foothills above Fresno, CA. Pre 9-11, a Fresn County Sheriffs deputy was killed by a member of this peaceful Islamic community. The suspect (in the beginning trial phase still) broke into a empty nearby foothill home, when deputies arrived this guy was lying in the hallway floor with a rifle, and killed one deputy. This video is the first investigative reporting we have had on this Islamic community. The trail leads to FUQRA, a known terrorist group operating all over the world, and have several communities such as this one all over the USA.

Here is an excerpt from an article of the Sacramento Bee...

California links of terrorists probed:
Federal and state investigators try to unearth 'sleeper' agents.
By Sam Stanton and Andy Furillo
Bee Staff Writers

(Published Sept. 30, 2001)

The compound Beyond seeking out ties to bin Laden-linked terrorist networks, officials are keeping tabs on another Islamic group near Fresno because of the recent killing of a sheriff's deputy in an area home, apparently stemming from a botched burglary.(this was no burglary according to all accounts)

There is no evidence that the Fresno group has been involved in any terrorist activities, officials say.

The group, according to a federal source, is part of Fuqra, an organization whose name means "poverty" in Arabic and which has had compounds in several U.S. areas.

Some Fuqra members in other areas have been implicated in past years in domestic terrorist attacks, and the State Department has labeled the group, known formally as Jamaat ul-Fuqra, as "an Islamic sect that seeks to purify Islam through violence."

The group south of Fresno operates an 1,800-acre compound called the International Quranic Open University, which sits on the former site of the drug addiction recovery cult Synanon.

The compound, a series of mobile homes shaded by trees, also serves as a U-Haul rentals location. A resident there last week refused to talk to a reporter, referring inquiries to a Visalia attorney who did not respond to a message seeking information.

Authorities have been studying the compound since the Aug. 21 slaying of Fresno County Sheriff's Deputy Erik Telen. Officials charged 20-year-old Ramadan Abdur-Rauf Abdullah with murder in the killing, apparently stemming from a botched burglary at a rural home.

James Oppliger, Fresno County's chief deputy district attorney, said the suspect claimed he had been living at the compound seeking psychiatric treatment from the Quranic university.

Oppliger said he since has begun studying the group and its possible connections to other organizations.

(Zavia Books) is the bookstore for this Islamic compound. It is called Koranic Open University. Note the books being sold. One of them is prefaced by ( Sheik Mubarik Ali Shah Jilani [Gilani]) a known terrorist. The trail leads from Baladullah (actually Miramonte, CA) to Pakistan, where Sheik Gilani lives. He is the head of Fuqra.

The links you are finding from Al-Fuqra to Pakistan and international terrorism are invaluable! Thank you!

Terrorism started in Serbia and Macedonia with attacks on police. Get ready for a bumpy ride, expect more attacks and "accidents" involving governments officials.

We (the US) can be pretty stupid when we want to be.

We don't even have to "want to be"....sometimes we just are.

Tonkin, thanks for the pings on this incredible story.

Tonkin and Ernest, could one of you please set up a ping list dealing with the over all organization of the AL FUQRA terrorist group and the so called Village in Fresno and ? other villages in the USA. We haven't identified all of them as of yet!

John, we need wide coverage on this from ocean to ocean. The more people who are aware of this incredible dangerous group of Islamic Fanatics here in America, the safer we become!

To all others out reading this, please send this to your senators, congressits and state legislature people.

Also, please contact Fox and other sites that might carry this. Hugh Hewitt needs to be contacted!

Ernest, your two bump lists dealing with the crimes of Fascist Davis re energy would be a great place to start.

Tonkin has several good bump lists with some very good people who should be brought on board!

To all of the good conservatives of Free Republic: This is our battle! As President Bush said 3 times last night, "Let's Roll!".

We need to wake up America to this cancer inside of us!

You posted one of the scariest and arousing posts I have read about the super rich Saudis who hate America/Americans:

"I summon my blue-eyed slaves anytime it pleases me. I command the Americans to send me their bravest soldiers to die for me. Anytime I clap my hands a stupid genie called the American ambassador appears to do my bidding. When the Americans die in my service their bodies are frozen in metal boxes by the US Embassy and American airplanes carry them away, as if they never existed. Truly, America is my favorite slave." -King Fahd Bin Abdul-Aziz, Jeddeh, 1993"

Two things that we have started to learn since 9/11:

1. The super rich Saudis have been financing OBL and other terrorists for at least a decade!

2. The Fundamentalist Islamics are not peace loving. Their so called religion as President Bush pointed out last night is really a justification of their acts of terrorism and hatred against Americans and others!

>IF THERE IS A TERRORIST CELL/VILLAGE IN THE FOOTHILLS NEAR FRESNO (OR ANYWHERE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER)....THEN WHY DON'T THE GOOD CITIZENS (READ 'MILITIA') OF THAT AREA......'TAKE IT OUT'??????

As has been posted in a couple of other threads, since 911, the Government has managed to arrest hundreds or even thousands of illegal and legal aliens without ANY of the aliens or agents getting killed. However, officers going to arrest an old American man with a wooden leg managed to both kill the old man (William Cooper) and get a local deputy shot twice in the head.

My guess would be that IF any "good citizens" attempt to do what's right about these terrorist camps here, THEN 1) the good citizens will get gunned down; and 2) the good citizens will im-MEDIA-tely be cast as a bunch of dangerous right wing nuts who were "threatening the children" of Muslim Americans.

That would be my guess. But I'm sure the media would call me "paranoid."

From your link, "Terrorists in California:" (post #162)

"It's clear that (Osama bin Laden) has put people in places to use later when he needs them," said a federal law enforcement official who has been involved in tracking such cells in California.

"Before Sept. 11, the most recent -- and potentially deadly -- plot against an American target was a plan to blow up part of Los Angeles International Airport."

This is just unbelievable. Well, I guess it's not surprising that California is one of the terrorists' targets.

I would hope that the only reason this place is still in operation is to determine what connections they may have with other operations both here and abroad.
From what I have read on this thread alone leads me to think a little peer pressure might be required to convince these folks that its time to re-think thier philosiophy.

This story fascinates me! I lived in Badger, CA from age 8 to age 14, (local, not Synanon) played on Synanon's sponsored little league team in the Exeter, CA little league.

Interesting. Maybe I've met you, or some of my family has. There aren't THAT many people up there. Do you go there now at all?

In about 1981, I rode with a couple of Synanon kids in a little Cessna on a fun flight around the mountains. You're right, Synanon did put up buildings along the strip, and also built a basketball court and tennis courts on it. The air strip hasn't been used since the mid-eighties. Badger is QUIET. If Fuqra were using the air strip, locals would notice immediately.

That's right. You can see how close the buildings are to the strip in the Terraserver images I linked to earlier. The largest building there is/was the communal center. It has a large commercial kitchen that can feed hundreds of people. Synanon used to take all their meals together. It has two large rooms downstairs and smaller rooms upstairs. The other buildings along the strip were offices for the business and maintenence workshops. There were many more trailers than what you can see in this photo. I think some were sold off, but a lot of them are just hidden by trees.

This compound is large. It is like a small town. I don't want to give too much personal info, but I've been through every non-residential building there numerous times. It was part of my job.

Some of my family still owns land there although they don't live up there any longer. They do visit occasionally. One has told me about being chased away near this compound by a man with a gun, last year. I will get the details from him.

I hope that you are right! Hopefully someone who has been really investigating these home grown Islamic Terrorist gave a heads up to the Fresno TV station. Then the reporters at the TV station followed up with their own investigation! Then if there is a large public outcry, this site and other sites will taken over, dismantled and appropriate evidence seized.

If not, hopefully we can get enough people outraged that the feds will have no choice but to make a move!

Exposing terrible stuff like this is our prime duty in this war against terrorism! Free Republic is an incredible tool for discovery and then alerting our own, and then alerting others who only have CBSNBCABCCNNCSPAN for their news that the dark side spikes and massages!

"Why is there an Islamic Village ....?"

I'm guessing to rub our kaffir noses in the fact that they are colonizing the West.

Let's find all local cells now, including the ones here in Santa Clara Co. Anyone have info or locations?

Yes here is more info.....in the newsreport video Baladullah's lawyer says there are no links to this village, the muslims of america or Sheik Jalani...yet when you go to the Muslims of Americas website, on there mast the choices are Zavila Books (which is ran by Baladullah, it says make checks payable to Muslims of America, and the mailing address is the location of this Islamic Village above Fresno), and Sheik Jalani, which is a known terrorist based in Pakistan.

According to this website there are similar locations in at least these places, strange it doesn't even mention the one in Fresno area, and that is what started this whole thread:
