Why is there an Islamic Village in the foothills near Fresno?
KFSN TV 30 Fresno, CA ^ | 11-07-01 | Kevin Quinn

.Why is there an Islamic Village in the foothills near Fresno? There's an airstrip and neighbors complain of gunfire. Kevin Quinn takes you inside Baladullah, California.

Sorry, no transcript as of now. Video only. Worth the effort to view.

The video provides a look at this compound in the foothills above Fresno, CA. Pre 9-11, a Fresn County Sheriffs deputy was killed by a member of this peaceful Islamic community. The suspect (in the beginning trial phase still) broke into a empty nearby foothill home, when deputies arrived this guy was lying in the hallway floor with a rifle, and killed one deputy. This video is the first investigative reporting we have had on this Islamic community. The trail leads to FUQRA, a known terrorist group operating all over the world, and have several communities such as this one all over the USA.

Here is an excerpt from an article of the Sacramento Bee...

California links of terrorists probed:
Federal and state investigators try to unearth 'sleeper' agents.
By Sam Stanton and Andy Furillo
Bee Staff Writers

(Published Sept. 30, 2001)

The compound Beyond seeking out ties to bin Laden-linked terrorist networks, officials are keeping tabs on another Islamic group near Fresno because of the recent killing of a sheriff's deputy in an area home, apparently stemming from a botched burglary.(this was no burglary according to all accounts)

There is no evidence that the Fresno group has been involved in any terrorist activities, officials say.

The group, according to a federal source, is part of Fuqra, an organization whose name means "poverty" in Arabic and which has had compounds in several U.S. areas.

Some Fuqra members in other areas have been implicated in past years in domestic terrorist attacks, and the State Department has labeled the group, known formally as Jamaat ul-Fuqra, as "an Islamic sect that seeks to purify Islam through violence."

The group south of Fresno operates an 1,800-acre compound called the International Quranic Open University, which sits on the former site of the drug addiction recovery cult Synanon.

The compound, a series of mobile homes shaded by trees, also serves as a U-Haul rentals location. A resident there last week refused to talk to a reporter, referring inquiries to a Visalia attorney who did not respond to a message seeking information.

Authorities have been studying the compound since the Aug. 21 slaying of Fresno County Sheriff's Deputy Erik Telen. Officials charged 20-year-old Ramadan Abdur-Rauf Abdullah with murder in the killing, apparently stemming from a botched burglary at a rural home.

James Oppliger, Fresno County's chief deputy district attorney, said the suspect claimed he had been living at the compound seeking psychiatric treatment from the Quranic university.

Oppliger said he since has begun studying the group and its possible connections to other organizations.

(Zavia Books) is the bookstore for this Islamic compound. It is called Koranic Open University. Note the books being sold. One of them is prefaced by ( Sheik Mubarik Ali Shah Jilani [Gilani]) a known terrorist. The trail leads from Baladullah (actually Miramonte, CA) to Pakistan, where Sheik Gilani lives. He is the head of Fuqra.

The FBI and ATF needs to raid these terror academies with ground penetrating radar to discover weapons and explosives caches.

The firing range backstops would also be a treasure trove of spent slugs to match to weapons which might be going off soon in malls and churches and kindergartens.

This is friggin' unbelievable! Like the Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight! Quick PS: A friend of mine, a 60 yr old women of European descent, expensively dressed, is a passenger in a taxi a few weeks ago, travelling over one of the NYC bridges. Security check. She gets asked for her papers, while the driver, a swarthy man with a turban gets asked NOTHING! HELLO!!! So now we 'wait for evidence'? Pfft!

God, Guns, and Guts Built and Maintain America. Ever was and ever will it be. That all too many have chosen to ignore this truth (at their own peril) does not nor cannot negate it.

I refuse to accept this notion that "life in America will never be the same (Post 9/11)." Sorry, it's ALWAYS been the same. Stick around long enough and sooner or later something bad will occur that requires a firm response. That's why full preparedness, which presupposes nourishing the constant will to be prepared for anything, must rank second to nothing IMO if the Republic is to survive.

Mr. President, I love you, but I need no guidance as to how I can help. I know what to do.

Over and out.

The trail leads from Baladullah (actually Miramonte, CA)

"Baladullah" is actually in Badger. This is a very rural area, the designations are informal. There was a Badger Post Office and a Miramonte Post Office, both were run attached to local markets. There is no home delivery. You have to open a PO Box and go get your mail. Baladullah got their box in Miramonte so that's their address.

I assure you, citizens in the area know the situation. They probably know more than we do or the media does. You can't keep a place like this secret up there.

So the airstrip is not being used as far as we know? Good. I must have missed that in the report on the news last night. I recorded it, just haven't gone back to watch it again. It would seem to me that if they were using it they could do as the above post says and fly people in an out without being detected.
Small planes don't have to necessarily file a flight plan do they? Or maybe they do now after the attack?

ya i used to live up in northern cal, people are vigilant to say the least and all have guns. after wtc maybe they are being a little more aggressive with this, if the police don't act, people in rural areas tend to tkae matters into their own hands.

Please go to this Google search to find out more than you ever wanted to know about this friendly group of Islamic Welcome Wagon fanatics, (Fugra, Google search link)

I'm out of here in a few minutes until tomorrow morning! Anyone who does not own a gun in California for family protection, had best go their local gun shop and start the paper process!

My question is, are there more?

According to the report, yes, there are more across the United States. Comforting thought don't you think? We only know about ours because one of the "student residents" murdered a deputy sniper style during a so called robbery.

I don't know how to post links, but I am sure the story of the murder is in the archives of the Fresno Bee.

As far as I know that fact wasn't in the report. I'm telling you what I know first hand. The airstrip hasn't been used in at least 15 years, maybe 20. Synanon lost their permit for it and they actually built a number of buildings along the strip and used it as a road. It may be possible for a small plane to land there, but it would have to be careful of the buildings on one side. No plane is going to land there without being noticed. It is not a place where small planes fly around. If one came in a lot of residents would hear it and see it.

El-Sheikh Syed Mubarik Ali Shah Jilani is from Ahli-Bayt, a direct descendant of the Holy Last Messenger, Syedena Muhammad ibn Abdullah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). One of his forefathers, Hazrat Sheikh Syed Muhyuddin Abdul Qadir Jilani, (May Allah Shower His Mercies upon him) is acknowledged throughout the Islamic world as being the supreme saint of Islam

Islam in America: Invigorated and Refined by Sheikh Jilani

Aside from waking Muslims up to the urgency of coming to the aid of their brothers and sisters in Afghanistan, Sheikh Jilani's first visit to America had a much greater impact. He found there people from all walks of life who, in their quest for the ultimate truth, had accepted Islam with an enthusiasm unmatched anywhere else in the world. However, they were not properly educated in all of the aspects of al-Islam, which is more than just religion, but a perfect way of life which covers its every facet. On seeing this, Sheikh Jilani decided to remedy the situation and bring those American Muslims up to the level which would allow them to attain the higher perfection in living the life of a Believer.

His task was made somewhat easier by the fact that anyone with a good heart, immediately upon casting their first glance at the Sheikh, knew that he was someone special, who had been sent by Allah Ta'ala as guidance and a mercy. All too happily, the Muslims in America accepted him as their Imam and Murshid (Spiritual Guide).

Muslims, who previous to meeting the Sheikh, were known for their laudable qualities of kindness, bravery, generosity, veracity, etc. gladly accepted him. Those who had previously exhibited undesirable traits, and were known as liars, cheats, and backbiters rejected him on some pretense or other. As Allah says in the Holy Qur’an:

Allah guides not the wrong doing people.

That in itself was sufficient proof for his new followers that Sheikh Jilani was on the right path. He taught his students to live according to Deen ul-Islam in letter and spirit, giving them a complete sense of self purpose and understanding man's goal in life: To return to his Creator. With that understanding came a desire to live a more moral and righteous life for self and family. Therefore, Sheikh Jilani encouraged his followers in America to become upstanding citizens of their county, as well as Muslims. They were discouraged from participating in criminal acts of any kind. They were enjoined to obtain education and training skills and stay off the welfare roles as this depleted the dignity of the Muslims [and others]. The majority of Sheikh Jilani's followers purchased land in areas away from the urban metropolis and developed small villages where they could raise their children in a wholesome environment and live a life of pure Islam, free from the decadence of a godless society.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Establishment of Muslims of the Americas and the Qur’anic Open University

To implement his plan of raising the status of his American Talibeen (students), Sheikh Jilani established the Muslims of the Americas and its affiliates, Qur’anic Open University. Many new programs were initiated by MOA especially in the field of Tabligh, the propagation of al-Islam.

Q.O.U. campuses were established throughout the United States, Canada and the West Indies, South America and Pakistan. Through these campuses, arrangements were made to send aspiring believers to Pakistan for intensified training in Islamic Studies, The students studied and received diplomas in Islamic sciences such as Fiqh (Islamic Law), 'Ilm ul-Qur’an (science of Holy Qur’an), Ilm ul-Hadith (science of Islamic traditions), Qiraat (proper recitation of Holy Qur’an), and Arabic studies, in addition to courses which would improve the quality of life and perfect Iman, such as Adab and Ikhlaq-e-Muhammadi (Islamic etiquettes and conduct of Holy Last Messenger, sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam).

Those students who graduated from the course of study in Pakistan, subsequently became instructors in their hometowns. In an amazingly short time, the light of knowledge began to shine all over the country while the darkness of Ignorance was dispelled.

Ernest, I don't know if this story was posted or not in this thread.

Muslims ask for a fair look! By Erin Kennedy, The Fresno Bee (Published Wednesday, September, 12, 2001 2:51AM)

While U.S. officials searched for the source of Tuesday's terrorist rampage, local Muslims feared assumptions would be made.

Already there was speculation that terrorist Osama bin Laden or other Muslim extremists were behind the attacks. And whether or not the suspicions are borne out, local Muslims who were no more involved with the carnage than Billy Graham was with the Spanish Inquisition have reason to believe they'll feel the heat.

That's nothing new.

"Most people have in their minds that Muslims are terrorists," said Verjean, talking outside a Fresno mosque more than two weeks ago. She didn't give her full name because she feels the press usually gets stories on Muslims wrong.

That day we had been talking of Ramadan Abdullah, the New York man who allegedly shot a Fresno County sheriff's deputy to death after staying at the local Muslim village Baladullah. We had been talking about the Muhammad family members accused of robbing and killing a southwest Fresno man. That day, after Friday midday prayers, we shook our heads over how those incidents wrongly color all Muslims.

For the link to the full story, (Fresno Bee Story on slain deputy)

I hope that all Freepers and conservatives living near this Islamic Place of "Peace" believe in the 2 nd Amendment and can protect themselves and their family members!

My comments on the utility of an airstrip were hypothetical.

If you are local to the area, and say it's not being used, and couldn't be without detection, that's good enough for me.
