On Tuesday, November 6th, the Wisconsin Assembly will be taking up Assembly Bill 259. Authored by Rep. Scott Walker (R-Wauwatosa), AB259 would require that prospective voters display state-issued photo ID at the polling place to prevent potential voter irregularities, including fraud. If preventing widespread voter misconduct is an issue you care about, please consider contacting your representative, Republican or Democrat, and urge that member of the Assembly to SUPPORT AB259 this Tuesday!

Nothing about being dead or a pet either. This nonsense has to stop. Use some common sense!

What boggles my mind is that the folks who think it is most important to verify the identity (and background) of somebody buying a firearm are the ones most likely to be opposed to verifying the identity of somebody wanting to vote. What possible harm could come from a) verifying that Joe Blow is, indeed, a citizen when he registers to vote; and b) verifying that the yokel standing in line at the polling place is, in fact, Joe Blow?
The only possible reason that I can fathom is that there is a (Democrat) agenda in favor of vote fraud, and that the spineless GOP is too scared to call a spade a spade.

This measure was knocked out of the budget bill by the Democrats earlier. WELL GEE, GO FIGURE!!! Maybe that's because it would take away a dead persons right to vote?
They're fighting for national socialist ID's though, aren't they?
Gee, don't take away their voter fraud advantage! Unlike Gore, they'd lose their option to litigate themselves into power!

"If voter fraud is stopped, voter participation will fall to less than 10%!"
Does that mean that "only" Republicans will vote?

Excellent point. Give everyone a national ID card (except me) but don't use it for voting. Typical.

What does it take to get a "voter ID"? Proof of citizenship? Birth certificate? That remains to be seen. Right now they register people if they have a utility bill. I haven't read the Bill. I would hope that they would have to show a birth certificate or naturalization papers. I certainly am going to suggest that to my representative.

"Requiring proof of citizenship, and proof of age, may be reasonable although difficult to implement. Specifying the specific sort of ID required to vote should be avoided." ????????????>/font>
Only a Liberal could make sense of that statement!

Right now they register people if they have a utility bill. Those A-rabs that hit the WTC had to have had a utility bill.
I'll bet they voted for Clinton. He aided Alla!

I saw it and will call my rep.

Weren't Wisconsin University (Madison) and Marquette (Milwaukee) students bragging in November about voting multiple times, at multiple polling sites, and competing to see who could vote the most?Yes. However, the Marquette students all backed down and said they were lying after the school threatened to suspend them. I believe them the first time, and I think the practice was widespread at other schools too.
I saw busloads of Concordia students pouring into my precinct to vote. Of course none of them had registered previously. I would wager that a few of them had already voted absentee.

..Right now they register people if they have a utility bill. I haven't read the Bill. I would hope that they would have to show a birth certificate or naturalization papers...Why didn't I think of that before? All you need to show is a driver's license and some mail, none of which proves citizenship. That's the way non-citizens end up voting. You're right- something needs to be done about that.

She was NOT PROSECUTED despite having Video Evidence. Actually, after much dilly-dallying, Mike McCann settled for a small fine for the 5 instances that were caught on TV. She was a millionaire socialite from NYC working with the Gore campaign. I think she got off for $500-$800. A pittance!

Hillary would have received a minimum of one million less votes.

This discrimnates against residents of the state that may have legitimate illigitimate reason for not wanting a picture ID. Requiring picture ID is nothing more than a way to keep people from voting by making it harder for them to vote. We should be working to make it easier for people to vote so we get full participation...Thank God you added the disclaimer. I thought you were serious for a minute! LOL
Seriously, I have to show a photo ID at Sam's Club and to work out at the YMCA. I don't see anyone staying away from those locales because they don't want to have their picture taken.

As a resident cheese person, I want this thing passed. We heard rumors during the elections last year about kids from Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin voting numerous times and they were joking about it. We also heard there were other similar abuses in parts of the city of Milwaukee.
Currently, you can go to the polls, tell the pollster where you live (any old address within that viting area will do) and they do not even have to (nor do they) ask for any proof of ID. They ahnd you a ballot and off you go! Crazy huh? Give me the stinky cheese....a picture ID or some kind of proof!

Hillary would have received a minimum of one million less votes. They had vans to drive the homeless, the addicts, the drunks, to the polls. Normally , these people wouldn't vote. With a few "gifts", they were happy to ablige!
They didn't do anything about the broken Lazio switches. I guess the liberal election commitee felt it was "unimportant".
