To My Dear Friends and Supporters,

I am writing you today regarding two very serious items:

1. To announce that I am running for the California State Assembly, District 56;

2. To let you know that I urgently need your help in this endeavor today.

Please read on . . .

Due to the combination of redistricting and term limits, there is no incumbent running for reelection in the 56th Assembly District. This resulting open seat is a wonderful opportunity for us to really make a difference in our State Government. As of this writing, there are only 2 major party candidates running for this seat; a Liberal Democrat, and me, a dedicated Conservative Constitutional Republican.

There is one pressing problem, however. We must raise the funds to pay the exorbitant filing fees (approximately $1000) required by the State of California in order to qualify for the ballot by the beginning of the coming week, as well as many other miscellaneous expenses. As I write this, we are far short of the goal.

Please note that no other Conservative Republican has stepped up to run for this open seat, and if we do not raise the funds necessary to secure my place on the ballot, we may well find ourselves in the untenable position of having a liberal Democrat running virtually unopposed for this seat. We must not allow that to happen!

Many of you have encouraged me to run for this office; I ask you now to please help make that possible by sending the largest contribution you possibly can today.

Going off on an analytical thing there. First off, UGH is right. Havice is as ugly as one of Klinton's old girlfriends. Not to mention a lib from the public school NEA area. She has neither the brains or the looks.

It looks like Norwalk will be trouble. If Cerritos is the conservative area, then Norwalk but be a liberal counterpart if Havice(damn she's ugly) is from there.

61% in a third term, in a dem year? This is winnable, especially since the seat is open. Redistricting makes it tough to call either way.

ARTESIA, BELLFLOWER, CERRITOS, DOWNEY, HAWAIIAN GARDENS, LAKEWOOD & LONG BEACH.

Well, no Long Beach is certainly good. I know that ain't friendly. It looks like only part of Lakewood is there. It looks like only Artesia, Cerritos, part of Lakewood, and Norwalk are in the new from the old district.

Keep in mind this is guessing here. How does that part of Whittier vote? Santa Fe Springs and Norwalk are Hispanic from the post earier. From the drawing I see, I'd guess that the closer to the ocean, the most left-wing it is.

What's east of Cerritos? If Norwalk is hard left(That's a guess), that east area could make the difference. Especially if it is a fairly conservative area, and the home base is in the west end of the district(Whittier).

We only need 50%(or maybe less if it's three way).

I'm hoping that I'll be able to do it Tuesday afternoon, so as to not have to deal with the zoo it'll be on Wednesday (the last day to file).

Whittier was once reliably Republican, it's now got a Democrat advantage of a few points. But the 56th got the more Democrat side of Whittier than my 58th did or Bob Pacheco's 60th did. Still, it will be good territory.

Norwalk is, like Santa Fe Springs, majority Hispanic, but I refuse to believe this makes them liberals. They vote for the right, carefully crafted message. Hell, Bush the Elder carried Norwalk in '92, and that was a bad year for us (like many). And SFS is a largely industrial and commercial city, with few actual residents, targeting them will be a snap.

Cerritos and Artesia should be great area for us, they both also have a high Asian ancestry population, and are higher income areas. We have a slice of Lakewood in this area too, we should be good here.

Hawaiin Gardens is pretty Democrat, but small and easily dealt with.

Across the river we have our only city in Orange County, Buena Park, home to Knotts Berry Farm and Independence Hall West. We ought to do real good here even if the Dems have gained ground, plus the vaunted OC Republican machine should help us greatly.

I was told it's a 3 way dem primary. We can't ask for better than that. If the dems eat their own badly enough, some of the voters will cross out for spite. Three wayers are the worst kind of primary as well. Ask Michigan voters. In 1994, the dems beat each other up badly in Michigan. Engler won with over 60%, and won all but two or three counties. In 1998, because of a three-way, FIEGER was the nominee and Fieger couldn't even win Genesee county(County with FLINT). That's where Michael Moore is from. That's where that nut prosecutor Art Busch if from(He's been in the news lately). GOP took the house and senate back that year, and never looked back since. 98 was bad nationwide, but not in Michigan.

I wouldn't write off Hispanic districts either, especially in local elections. And that part of Whittier is a home base, and many people vote hometown. That "hometown' vote carried Mike Rogers by 150 votes. He took 65% in Livingston County, while Bush took 60% there.

Orange County's machine jumping in is always a positive. Earlier I compared this to Kildee's seat. Kildee almost lost in 94 and it was close in 96 too. 96 was a VERY bad year in Michigan. This guy has been around for almost 30 years as well.

Due in LARGE part to the efforts of Freepers, we have cleared the first two hurdles of securing the 56th Assembly District for FREEDOM and the CONSTITUTION!

I just now returned from filing both the required number of signatures we needed to collect from Registered Voters, and the (unreasonably large) filing fee in order to secure a place on the ballot for my campaign.

I feel honored that so many patriots, both locally here in Southern California, and those whom I only know through the 'net on FreeRepublic, have shown us so much support both in financial contributions and in time invested as volunteers for our campaign.

While there are 3 liberal Democrats who will be slugging it out amongst themselves to win the Democrat nomination in the March 2002 Primary Election (wasting their time, money and effort - don't you just love it when your enemies fight amongst themselves?), I am the only Republican who will be on the Primary Ballot - making me the defacto Republican Nominee. This means that we can now begin to strategize, stockpile funds and materials, carefully craft and hone our message, etc., etc. in preparation to WIN the General Election in November, 2002 without having to waste even one cent in the Primary Election!

Again, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart, and I promise you that I will not let you, nor our cause, down!

Please continue to spread the word about my candidacy and OUR campaign (we are in this together, aren't we?) so that we can build a huge "war chest" to use to not just defeat, but totally annihilate our opposition!
