Just reported on the 10 PM WBZ radio news broadcast:
FBI is seeking a rental type Ryder Van that was stopped trying to enter the parking garage at the Cambridge Mass Galleria mall at about 7 PM. When the back doors of the van were opened by security personnel, there were 6, 55 gallon drums duct taped to the vans walls along with gas type cans also taped to the walls.
The van then sped off. The FBI is asking for anyone seeing the van with possible license plate of 4789H7 to contact Police or the FBI.

Do you know if there's a RealAudio link to channel 2 on the Boston PD scanner?
Sorry I sure don't know.
I agree they must have switched channels.

This is just a reminder to myself.....
If I have dreams tonight about green dragons, ryder trucks, mysteries behind truck doors, and smoke coming out of buildings........
I will know why :)

This is a great instance of a FREE REPUBLIC, disrupter.
To: imjustme
OK - thanks. I've given up on listening to the scanner for now. They apparently don't want to make anything else public on the truck.

I am going to turn it off too.
3:15am here and I am off to bed.
Keep safe.

I'm just guessing here... but English isn't your first language, is it? </understatement>

I've thought and studied our enemy. While he may be illusive, he is predictable. He is a coward, and he will go for the easiest target first. The weakest are going to be his targets. The Patriots are not the ones he wants to face. Look at the news and evaluate my hypothesis. What do you think? Going after the easiest target is not cowardice, it is elementary military tactics. In battle, your objective is not to appear brave, your objective is to take out enemy targets. If you can take out 10 lightly-defended high-value targets with less risk to your forces than trying to take out one highly-defended target, then that's how you go.
They are trying to take us down, not demonstrate how "brave" they are

no-one has thought nuclear yet!Relax!
Cambridge declared itself a "nuclear-free zone" years ago, so it's surrounded by the invisible protective shield that such a designation provides.

>> It's interesting that most of these things are occuring on the east coast, and the heart of liberalism. If this is an attack, one must consider the logic of the enemy<<
Pre 9-11 thinking, bro.
To the enemy, we're all the same.

They think they can win.
Hopefully, they're wrong.

I have to go to the mall today. Luckily the parking lot is not a part of the structure and I just need to visit one store. I won't be near the food court or walking the interior.

I think there are big high-rise malls in downtown Boston. There was one right across the street from me when I stayed at the Copley Plaza a few months ago (and the police raided the Westin hotel next to that mall right after Sept. 11.) I don't know where that mall's parking is.

I'm thinking a bumper sticker. "NO FLYING OR BUYING UNTIL DEPORTATION" or somethiing like it. Maybe some talented FReepr could work up something clever.

My first thought when I heard this news was that the tunnels might be a target.

I agree, and furthermore.....there needs to be a nationwide apb via the news..the media focuses on one issue and drills it for weeks at a time ...very misleading and wrong as this effects our lives directly...We need to speak out ..get the illegals out of our country ...they can stop citizens at DUI checks at any other time, why cant they do something like that now,why let another student in this country now from that region...this is not a race issue if we turn it into that we would be wrong as americans , it is a legal issue of citizenship. We have a right to know of the risk we are in and a right to be protected by our government

What may have to happen is some city or some state will have to be willing to go to court to defend a prohibition of "Middle Eastern men" in their domain.
If ten western states did that, for example, it would put tremendous pressure on W and Congress to get off their duffs and do what is necessary to protect the country.
Any courageous mayors or governors out there ready to tell their legal counsel that "I know it is illegal but we are doing it anyway because the safety of our citizens is more important that an out-of-date set of laws. And if they want to throw me in jail for violating the Middle Eastern men's civil rights than so be it."?
