Talk show host Tom Sullivan just reported that during a press conference Gov. Davis said he was notified that there is evidence that terrorists plan to target the Coronado Bridge (San Diego), the Golden Gate & Bay Bridges (San Francisco) and an LA Bridge (didn't catch the name) tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 2nd.

There's ways.
Watch for them to start prohibiting pedestrians ....... Nah, 50 cal's that far off won't do any good.

Wanna bet Davis did it to "look presidential" before next year's elections? That he had federal info he was briefed on, but not supposedly to release?

Y'know LL, why chance it? Do you really think that if these cultists want to pull some stunt that there's 100% certainty they're gonna be stopped? No. If something does happen, do you think everything will come to a screeching halt for days? Yes. Do you think it might get ugly? Maybe. At the very least, they should have full gas tanks, water, lights, food, blankets and gear incl. cell phone and satellite laptop, if they go.

Thanks; that is good advice. They do not know about freepers and I told them that I would talk to my online friends tonight in case you all had any thoughts on the issue.

I love the Sunshine Skyway Bridge! It's such a spectacular view from the bridge, and from the Tampa Bay below via boat.

Nice post! Used to drive over it every week.
This bridge between L.A. and Long Beach was made famous in the film "Gone in 60 Seconds" starring Nicholas Cage.
Nicholas Cage grew up in Long Beach.

This bridge between L.A. and Long Beach was made famous in the film "Gone in 60 Seconds" starring Nicholas Cage. Actually, there is no bridge between LA and Long Beach. There are two bridges from LA and one bridge from Long Beach to the shared real estate called Terminal Island.
The smallest of these three, the one that goes from north to south and the only one that is actually a "draw bridge", was the one that was in the movie. The other two bridges are huge and fixed, with the Vincent Thomas "suspension bridge" being the largest.

Thanks for clarifying my post.
Great view from atop that bridge, huh?
I moved from Long Beach back to Portland, Oregon in December.

The FBI, however, said in its alert that authorities had not yet corroborated the information but decided to issue a warning. The warning was sent Wednesday to law enforcement agencies in California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Montana and Idaho.

I believe that November 2nd is the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, which opened the way for a Jewish homeland.
Someone was already living there though. Yes indeed, the Jews were... Since at least 1880.

Alternate paranoid scenario:
Container in a major port (probably LA) with a bomb (insert your favorite type here) loaded in a foreign port (reference your favorite Islamic hot spot here).
A few days ago they (the authorities) nabbed an
Egyptian (terrorist) in Container in Italy:
Just put a few martyrs in containers and ship them to some major ports. If they spread enough Cesium 137 around LA harbor via a conventional explosion, that would be a pretty big economic dent.
Have a Nice Day!

Why is grey-out Davis making this announcement, not the Feds? Is he grandstanding, or looking for Federal hand-out money?I'm just watching Larry King Live w/ Gov Doofus. King just asked him if he consulted with Ridge or Homeland Security before making the announcement about the bridges. He avoided saying "no" by talking about all the state level underlings he did consult with, but obviously he did NOT run this by Ridge at all before he took to the podium.
Damn! I KNEW this would turn out to be the case. Someone in the big house needs to rip this dangerously self-important S.O.B. a new one.

OK, I'll have a nice day.
I don't plan to go anywhere tomorrow that I have to cross one of my three bridges to get to.
I have thought about the container possibility. That guy they found in the container had a pretty good set up in there.

Newhall Pass...*that's* the one! Couldn't recall the name earlier. Thanks!
We moved to Northern California 10 years ago and haven't experienced a shaker in quite a while...thankfully.

Regretably, I am having trouble believing the governor due to his previous record. It is unfortunate that, at this crucial time, the Gov's previous record on Energy, Education, Healthcare, Environment, etc. and his previous misstatements would cloud my ability to believe him.
It's hard to believe this man. It's the problem with having a Clinton-like person in the chief executive chair.
