Thanks for posting. We can't and won't forget. Let's hope the rest of America doesn't when this war gets real ugly.

Thanks for the pictures. I'm going to miss going up to the top (I've been there more times than I can count).
I saved some of the larger ones as wallpaper. Thanks again.

Unfortunately, I suspect the choice was 1) A slow painful death by intense heat, fire, and smoke.Anyone on top once the fire and smoke became intense clearly knew there was no chance of survival. Jump.

That's just it. I can't think like that. Just because I don't see a way out doesn't mean there isn't one, I would try finding a way to escape untill I was dead no matter how hopeless it seemed. You never know what will come from trying untill you actually do it.

Thank you for the pictures. Nothing morbid about the view from the top.

The Horror of the Holocaust will never be forgotten. And Jewish folk spend ENORMOUS effort reminding the world.

It is time America understood that keeping these painful images at the forefront is not about p##ing on your cornflakes, it is about facing the truth and dealing with it for all time. Your own life is at stake.

Those who would sweep this under the rug think they are being 'sensitive' to the victims. BULLSH!T.

It is in truth just more political correctness and a selfish desire to avoid pain.

The danger to America is FAR GREATER to forget the horror of 9-11 than to overload.

Congratulations, Third Mate, on making people THINK about the gruesome loss of innocent American lives of people just like you and me, and the evil enemy within, including Socialist politicians and Hollywood scum, that permitted this to happen.

NEVER FORGET

i think you exercised poor judgement (as well as poor taste) by posting this. we all know how tall the wtc was, and i'm sure have all thought of what it must of been like to have been one of the unfortunate ones who decided to jump

We all know that fighting a war to bring those who did this to account will result in civilian deaths. But the media gushes over every Afghan kid who cuts his toe on a fragment of a US bomb.

Consider this post balance for their pro-terrorist propaganda.

Reminding people of what occurred is no sin.

Supposedly there is more than one picture of an area near the WTC taken shortly before the collapse where many of those who lost hope fell. The pictures of the area have been suppressed by the news organizations whose employees took the photos. A friend of mine who works for a prominent NYC paper says his editor saw the photo, and described it as a scene out of a slaughterhouse. Could be an urban myth, but this tactic wouldn't surprise me. There are many people in the country for whom a number - 5,000; 6,000, means nothing, who have no conception of how large those buildings are. Information like this is necessary to galvanize and maintain public opinion in support of this war.

Thanks for the pictures. I have never been up there and only seen them once from a plane landing at Laguardia on 8/8/01. Terrifying to think of falling from that distance or burning to death. Must have been a wonderful view until 9/11.

Pray for GW and the Truth!

I hope this thread is pulled.

Oh really. And why do you want to censor pictures from the top of the World Trade Center?

Hmmmmmm....?

I have no problem with the pictures and I truly believe that we, as a nation, need to be more focused on just what was done to us on September 11th. (Unfortunately I witnessed a number of these people jumping and falling with my own eyes.)

That said, I do think that your headline was somewhat ill-chosen.

They did not "lose hope", they jumped in hope.

The picture of the steel columns from street level are particularly chilling now as they remind me of arms stretched upward...for rescue, relief, almost as in praise....

Yet they also remind me of abstract crosses.

Here is a link to a site that has the Univsion clips. Be warned the website is a very twisted death/gore site, but they do have 5 video clips of the actual footage.

For the life of me I can't understand jumping out the window. I just couldn't bring myself to give up so completely, to be so without hope or faith that I would give up and take a plunge like that. I tried to put myself mental in their situation, but I would rather die fighting to get out than to jump.

10 seconds of searing heat making your skin bubble would change your attitude immediately. Fire is the most painful way to go possible. In World War I -- before parachutes were invented -- biplane pilots who's planes were on fire would jump out of their craft to a certain death rather than burn in the plane.

If you were in either tower, you, too, would jump.
