etliner cockpit keys, a uniform and a passport belonging to an American Airlines pilot are missing from his car, which was stolen from a Newark Airport parking lot more than a week ago, authorities said yesterday.
Police recovered the 1996 Acura Integra last Wednesday, but no red flags were raised because the car hadn't been reported stolen and cops didn't know the owner was a pilot.
The pilot called police yesterday when he couldn't find the car in Lot F at the airport, where he left it Oct. 19.
Port Authority spokesman Steve Coleman said detectives haven't interviewed the pilot and don't know why he left uniform, keys and passport in the car or where he went. "I assume he was out of town," Coleman said, "but we don't know if it was a vacation or business."
He said there was no suspicion "at this point" that the theft was linked to possible terrorist activity.
American Airlines spokesman John Hotard declined to say which aircraft the cockpit keys were for.
"The only thing I can tell you is that we have security procedures in place so that we know who's in the cockpit," he added.
Hotard said he was unable to identify the pilot or say why his uniform and keys had been left in the car.

Yeah Right, after 4 planes were hijacked on 9/11, the cops shouldn't think this was suspicious!! no wonder we're in such a mess! H E L L O!!!

Time to move on. Nothing to see here. Everybody just wants a pilot uniform to take home and pretend he is an airline pilot.

FIRE the pilot! Make an example of him! You're assuming the pilot is still alive, do you? His car, keys and passport stolen and not a word?

According to Homer, all you have to do is hang-out at the airport bar where the pilots drink. Supervisors come in and take the first uniformed "pilot" who isn't overly drunk to fly the next plane.

I'm married to a pilot. We've had 2 cars in airport parking since July. It's quite common for pilot's cars to be left for long periods. Fortunately my husband isn't stupid enough to leave his passport in the car.

The Newark airport and parking are nightmares. I'm not surprised the car was stolen at Newark.

Listen, the crew room for an airline and location I will not name still has not changed their access code for the door to that room. That room has uniforms inside of it. If the airlines don't give a sh%t about security then then deserve what is going to happen to them.
I have a loved one that works for the airline. I told this person to raise a little hell about it but some people, by nature, are shy about bringing attn to themselves.

We've had 2 cars in airport parking since July. What are the odds that those cars will start when needed? Here in Florida, my vehicles hardly turn over if left for more than a week.
On a more serious note, I wonder if Lot F is an employee parking lot. This seems like another serious airport security problem.

Whatever else happens,
every Arab or Muslim foreigner who got flight training and is overdue on his visa needs to be detained if not deported--
immediately!

Leaves a uniform and passport and keys in a car for two weeks?
Wait a minute...
