Attorney General Ashcroft news conference alerting that there may be addtional terrorist attacks this week.

I am disturbed at what I saw tonight.

I concur with you and the others...it was disturbing.

The only other explanation I can muster is that Ashcroft lost the argument about making this 'announcement' and was doing so reluctantly.

Fullerton CA (and if you lived there you'd want to use Ontario airport to get away) is chockablock full of A-rabs. Many of them are the grandchildren, nieces, nephews, etc. of the former Grand Mufti of Jerusalem during WWII. He was a Nazi. Once Israel was established, this extended family had to leave town for good.

Then there are all those folks who own all the date palm groves in the central valley. Their folks came from Morroco in the early 1900s. Not sure they think they are A-rabs.

My idiot was white, pure white, no arabic in his blood that I saw. He may also have been just repeating a rumor, like the halloween thing, thinking that i thought like he did, and he was just sharing it. But, when I asked him to elaborate, he just walked away, no information after that.

I am sure there is alot they know that they aren't saying.
Sometimes I mumble to myself because we live so far away from everything. When we lived in a large city we were within minutes of malls, the zoo, museums, etc. Now we are about an hour away from everything.
Not near anything major at all.
I am thankful we chose this area when my husband retired from the military...even though it is 45 min away from the closest base.
I realize no place is safe but I feel more secure here than if we were near a large city. I also feel blessed to be homeschooling.
Having said that I still have a sick feeling in my stomach after watching the live break.

I hope it doesn't have anything to do with the 43 suitcase nukes the Taliban got from the Soviets and have been trying (and thwarted on several occasions) to get fisionable plutonium for. They may have un-enriched lower grade material for a dirty bomb though.

IMHO, it's a good time to stock up on food, water, cash, and ammunition.

We used the term 'towels' (towelheads) as our code word. As in, 'have you seen any towels?'.

I think they told us on a need to know basis. I would bet that law enforcement got the specifics. After all, if they want to catch these guys, they can't say too much because evil doers watch these briefings too and they would change plan a to plan b and they'd slip through law enforcement's fingers.

They basically were telling us to listen to law enforcement almost in a sense that if an incident happens, do "whatever" law enforcement says, like "run", "get down", etc. Remember when "get down" meant groove with the music? Times have changed. We are definitely at war. Remember what Cheney said the other day about casualties at home? Ominous.

I agree. I've lost count of these so-called alerts, but they all have several things in common. They are very general, so as to give you no idea as to what the threat is. They also have all been false alarms. I guess if you continually raise the alarm, eventually one will coincide with the next act of cowardice by these diaperheads.

May be nothing to the following.

Early this morning on FR, someone posted that the Israelis had arrested/detained a person along the Jordanian border. That detainee supposedly had a suitcase-size nuclear weapon.

No further information or news reports have surfaced regarding this incident, so it may have been nothing.

With so many rumors and unknown-but-averted incidents, we just need to stay alert.
