AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 279) [Remember the Trade Center!!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | October 26, 2001 | All of Us

Posted on 10/26/2001 4:29:08 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

Good Morning!!

Do not let them die in vain!!

There a lot of stuff to get everyone up to speed this morning, so I'm breaking the opening rant into sections.

ANTHRAX ATTACK

Another confirmed case of pneumonic anthrax - the postal worker in Sterling, VA, is diagnosed with the malady.

Anthrax has been found at the CIA, though termed "medically insignificant".

Anthrax has been found at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research.

Anthrax has been found in a mail sorting facility in Manhattan.

Another possibly tainted envelope was reported at the New York Post, though it is likely "collateral mail".

Several suburban mail facilities in Washington, DC, are undergoing tests for anthrax.

Over 10,000 mail workers are on antibiotics.

CDC has changed policy regarding treatment of anthrax: exposed people should get 60 days of antibiotics, not the current 10 they are receiving. Pneumonic victims to receive multiple antibiotics - Cipro and at least two others.

SOUTH ASIA THEATER OF OPERATIONS

US warplanes and Northern Alliance troops step up attacks around Mazer-e-Sharif, though it is uncertain when the city will be captured.

Northern Alliance would like the United States to step up its attacks. The United States bombs Kabul and Kandahar.

Two American fighter aircraft narrowly missed a SAM shot.

There is growing criticism the United States is conducting the war too slowly.

Uzbekistan agreed to open some of its river ports to allow relief supplies to go to Afgoneistan.

HOME FRONT

The last President was mailed salmonella.

The Senate overwhelmingly (98-1) approves anti-terrorism legislation. The President to sign it today.

Groups have appealed to Tom Ridge to fortify the Nation's nuclear reactors.

A $1.4 billion package for emergency preparedness has been introduced in the Senate.

The UNITED WE STAND postage stamp will be available November 1 in Post Offices in Washington, DC, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

OTHER ITEMS

I learned this morning that another worker in my building - someone whom I've known almost since the first day I worked here, 14 years ago now - had her mother pass yesterday. I would ask for your prayers for her.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

GOOD MORNIN' EVERYONE. Kind of cloudy here this AM.

Prayers for your friend Chair.

SY, I read your article from Jan. I think the WTC has awakened a lot of our fellow citizens, but there are always those who will not accept what has and will happen. I do think we are in for more happenings here, not only the large cities, but the towns too.

Since WWII, America has been pablam fed the idea that we are the greatest nation, and I believe it too, but as the years have passed since WWII, America has also become a more socialist nation, what with all the government give-a-ways.

As with any of our politicians, Dr. Frist is a bit of an egoist. I don't think it is wise for him to appear on every tv tube in America telling us stuff the presstitutes have been saying 24/7. He has added nothing, from what I've been able to hear.

Chair, I think you are right, incrementalism toward BIG GOVERNMENT has been put in 5th gear. Don't forget, everyone, we're still paying a nickel a gallon from the days of WWII. What the government takes away, it NEVER gives back. (Well, this year Pres Bush did give back some of our money, but this is the first time).

I'm up late, after midnight here.

I said in the essay that both left and right in America will have to face the truth, but mostly it was the Clinton supporters who I thought were in for a rude awakening.

You know, in China even among Christians there is very little opposition to abortion. They're very brainwashed and it's extremely sad.

I have friends in China who have been so brainwashed by the one child policy propaganda that they now think it would be almost inconceivably difficult to have more than one child. Weird, huh?

Where?

I forgot the name, but it is about 14 blocks north from Constitution. South of the Radisson.

On another note, are you tired of kimchi yet? ;^)

If it's the place I'm thinking of, on Vermont Av, just a bit below the Rad, out of business too.

Actually, Mrs. Chairman cooks mostly American stuff, some Chinese stuff, and very little Korean. Occassionally, kimchee is placed on the table, but not often (only Mrs. Chairman and I will eat it).

Darn, that was a good Shushi bar. For some reason I couldn't remember Vermont ave.

On another note, the First Lady will not allow me to eat copious amounts of kimchee with large amounts of beer. I have to sleep on the couch. 8^(

Mrs. Chairman has been going through this phase where she feels she needs to experiment by trying out what seems like all of the recipes in various cook books.

While a majority have been pretty good, some downright great, there have been others that have been "oh, yeah, this is all right, honey."

Well I'll butt in and answer that: I never tire of kimchee!

'Specially in the winter, when it is so warming! LOL!

Condolences? The Mariners win 116 games in the season and you think they need condolences? Strange. I would have thought that the Mariners should apologize to the rest of the league for beating the heck out of them for 6 months.

Let the Yankees and the Diamondbacks fight it out for something that is given away every year. The Mariners did something that hasn't been done in 95 years and I wouldn't trade that for a season of 95 wins and a trophy.

No sour grapes here!

Well, no. That's because I'm dealing with a foreign-born individual.

What does happen, however, is she interprets that literally, so I see the meal for several more iterations until the kids grow tired of it and object to another repeat engagement.

Excellent come-back.

Why is Bernadette Healy resigning as head of the Red Cross?

Yes, will be interested in hearing what's behind this. Puzzling that she would resign just now, while the charities are under attack for not distributing their massive contributions quickly enough to those in NY and DC who should be the recipients. Wonder what she knows.

Why does the word 'inflict' enter my mind?

As I sit typing I am ROFLMAO!
