First of all, to prevent the flamings, I should say that I am a strong conservative, and my number one issue is the life issue and so I am not at all a supporter of the Clintons etc.
That being said, I thought it the height of rudeness for these firemen and policemen to boo and yell at the Senator this weekend. It lacked dignity and class. I thought we conservatives were supposed to stand for such things, or perhaps this is just what we say, but do not practice.
I wonder what Burke et al would have said about this conservative embrace of very questionable manners.
The policemen and firemen should have just done nothing when she appeared on stage, no clapping, no booing, the silence would have expressed the same thing, but in a much more dignified way.

There are lot of well educated and very smart people on this forum, who would never describe themselves as elite only as hard workers and fortunate.
No whining, please. We're conservatives. We don't spend our days and hours indulging in pity-me-parties.
I will believe that she was there representing the People and State of New York....perhaps she was not, and perhaps I am too naiive, but still, I will give her the benefit of the doubt. If this offends people then so be it. I am no friend of hers, and daily I pray that she and her family will have a change of heart and strive to protect the millions of babies killed each year in the name of "choice", but I believe her simply to be misguided and not evil.
Senator Lady Hillary MacBeth doesn't give "non-political" speeches. She doesn't give non-political appearances. In fact, the more non-political she and her staff claim a venue is, the more thoroughly political it is likely to be.
If she ain't evil, who is?
Based on my actual conduct, I might not have booed, even if seated amongst those that did. But, I certainly wouldn't have looked down on the crowd for doing so....that's the difference.
Occasionally, its invigorating to get involved with your most stongly held, visceral, opinion. Get in it up to your elbows.
Remember, those weren't self-styled political conservatives voicing their fealings; but instead, just ordinary people, who, at heart, have traditional american sentiments.
KC, did I read you correctly? You wouldn't have booed?
If I had been there, I would have thrown chairs.
Obviously, my arguments will not alter your opinion. I will not lose sleep.
To all those Public Servants out there, 'the little people', as watsonfellow would think of you...that elitists rely on to fight their battles for them as they sip their wine....THANK THE LORD FOR YOU! Prays are being offered across the nation for you, your fallen brothers and the families left behind.
As far as people like watsonfellow are concerned, a John Stuart Mill quote comes to mind....
The world consists largely of weak men made and kept free by better men than themselves.
I'm not name calling...it is a general comment pointed toward everyone who thinks they are above a fight against evil. If you choose not to oppose evil, in this case verbally against Xlinton, then you have allowed evil to continue....IMO, if one's stomach is too weak to accept vocal public objection to a hypocritical public 'servant' who's personal ambition COMPLETELY overshadows the public best interest, then I would suggest that perhaps one's conservative beliefs are only superficial and not heart felt or sincere. If personal beliefs are superficial and insincere then there is little motivation to stand behind them. These are my beliefs.
