Note From Ted Olson
email

Posted on 10/22/2001 1:17:52 PM PDT by Paul Rodriguez

"I so very much appreciate all the kind thoughts and good wishes expressed by the Free Republic readers.

Barbara was a great fan of Free Republic.

The knowledge of how much Barbara was loved and admired has been my chief consolation in these difficult days.

Sincerely,
Theodore B. Olson"

Thank you for posting this note from Ted Olson. It is still difficult to believe that the sparkling courageous and beautiful BKO is gone to a better place. May the Love of God, family & friends bring comfort to Mr. Olson.

I just learned that Amazon has shipped "Final Days" to me. As I read the words I will hear her familar voice speaking the truth loud & clear.

We will always love and remember Barbara Olson, our Freeper Angel.

God bless us all. Ted Olson is an example of American excellence and Barbara's lives on through our memories and her words.

We will see each other again. It has been promised.

God Bless Ted Olson!

When I last saw him he was with Barbara at the US Supreme Court during the last day of the last Session, June 29, 2001, immediately after the Copurt adjourned, when he was kind enough to say hello & shake hands.

He's a very good man.

I humbly expressed my congratulations and joy at his having been confirmed in a tough fight, over substantial opposition, i.e., over Sen. Hillary's "dead body" (metaphorically speaking); of course, I didn't mention ANYONE by name; it would have been rather inappropriate at that time and place.

I am glad FReepers sent him words of support and condolences.

Love defeats hate, Freedom ovewhelms tyranny, and Barbara lives.

She lives in our hearts and in our prayers.

She lives.

God bless Ted Olson, Barbara's family, and all who knew her and called her friend.

That would include you Mr. Rodriguez, God bless you, and thank you for this post.

Dear Paul

Please convey to Mr Olson -- and to all of those he loves and who love him -- the profound gratitude of every member of my family for him and for his service to Our Beloved FRaternal Republic.

And our thanks, also, for the memory of his beautiful wife, Barbara, who for as long as there is a breath left in any one of us -- will live in the hearts of every member of my family, too.

Rest well, Beautiful Lady.

Blessings, Mr Olson.

Sincerely

Brian

Paul, thank you for posting Ted's gracious note. I hope that he knows how admired he and Barbara are here at FreeRepublic, and how much we value the stand for truth, honor, and justice that both of them have always fought for.

Anytime you need us Freepers,Ted, you just call. We'll be there for you.

Mr. Olson,

Barbara is truly loved by many and she will be missed. My clicker was always looking for her smiling face. She was always right on the money with her commments and her books were a must read. I also would like to extend my deepest graditude for your inspirational work in helping our President during the election process. You and Barbara have served our country well.

May God Bless you and your family.

Ted Olson's note to Free Republic reads like poetry. He says so much in so few words. Ted Olson is a great patriot and if it were not for the work of both Ted and Barbara Olson, our country would most likely be in very bad shape today.

Everyone here misses Barbara Olson very much. We should be confident that she is in a much better place now. I've never read a thread like this on FR. I've never posted a note to BKO here before, but certainly they must get FR in Heaven.

Dear BKO,

Hillary got booed!

Best wishest to Mr. Olsen in his coping with his loss.

I have heard nothing but good words from friends who knew Mr. and Mrs. Olsen. Barbara will be missed by all of FReeperdom.

I'm sure Ted will honor her memory by doing an even better job for America.

Paul, I am very fortunate to have found a Catholic parish that steers away from the typical liberal gospel. Sunday under the Mass Intentions I found the following:

For Barbara Olson + .

The + signifying the deceased. I was really touched but not surprised because the Sunday after Sept. 11, our priest gave a full sermon on how personally he took Barbara's death. Isn't it good to know there are still some mainline clergy battling for the Lord and America?

God Bless Ted. --Cynthia in Tucson

We all have lost a national treasure in Barbara Olson. I could never imagine the grief Ted must feel with his loss of such a warm, inspiring person as Barbara. May God give Ted the strength.

How very thoughtful of Ted, and very kind of you, Paul, to post this on our forum. I am again acutely aware of the feeling in the pit of my stomach when I first learned of the plane that hit the Pentagon carried Barbara Olson. Not unlike losing a family member. To this day I find that so odd for me to have had that type reaction. I now find that I was not alone. She was a charming and lovely addition to our lives that cannot be replaced. God has added another star to His heavens.

Ted, may God strengthen and keep you as you move forward without her.

It just doesn't seem possible that Barbara is no longer here just from seeing how full of life she was on television. I'm sorry, I try not to think she is really gone. Some people are here for so long and accomplish so little or nothing. She accomplished so much and seemed to enjoy herself immensely. I truly admired her and always enjoyed seeing her on tv. She was truly wonderful. She held a special place while she was here, and I am sure she holds a special place now.
