My dictionary states that "dumbies" is appropriate. It also states that "dummies" is correct. Therefore, what's with the grammar police? Can you tell me?
I find it odd that I post a thread in an effort to gain some good, honest discussion in regards to many important issues, and as soon as it is posted, the grammar police are at my throat. If this isn't childish, I don't know what is.
This is not a vanity. It is a topic posted in the questions/opinions section, which, I might add, is a part of this forum. If you have a problem with that, don't respond. There are a lot of good people who would like to reply, but since the thread has been butchered, what purpose does it serve?

1. I think your thread is getting attention, maybe not discussion.
2. Since you mentioned "My dictionary states that "dumbies" is appropriate." I am curious what dictionary that is? I must confess, I find it extremely difficult to belive that ANY dictionary, print or online, would indicate that "dumbies" is correct - please prove me wrong.

I checked the Merriam Webster Dictionary...50th addition and dumbies is not in the dictionary....I then checked the Newword Dictionary...thinking it was a new word? LOL The Newword Dictionary is the second college edition and it is huge...so, what dictionary did you find the word dumbies in?

Here...;-}
It was too irresistible to pass up.
My dictionary states that "dumbies" is appropriate. It also states that "dummies" is correct. Therefore, what's with the grammar police? Can you tell me?
Well, your dictionary probably said that "dumby" was an earlier form of "dummy" which has been in use for over 200 years in the sense of "A person who has nothing to say or who takes no active part in affairs; a dolt, blockhead." Neither American Heritage nor Merriam-Webster lists "dumby" as an "appropriate" spelling for "dummy". Besides, you should be glad that people call you on it. This demonstrates that language, like DNA, has mechanisms in place to correct misreadings and, in this way, ensure some measure of continuity rather than the chaos of unbridled mutation.

Most of the attacks are because the answer to your question is so obvious, i.e., allowing socialists to take over our institutions, media etc., that most posters didn't even want to deal with answering you so they attacked your spelling. Your other choice would have been zippo responses.

I hadn't read the comments before my prior post to you. I think you ask some good questions and I believe my prior post provides some answers.
I don't know why everyone dumped on you like they did. I hope you don't let it discourage you from continuing to post on FR.
As far as spelling goes.. geez if I had a dime for every misspelled word I've seen on FR I could afford that vacation to Vegas.

This is not a vanity. It is a topic posted in the questions/opinions section, which, I might add, is a part of this forum. For those unclear on the concept, all "made up" posts are "Vanities", regardless of where they are posted.
Posting in the wrong place of course, qualifies you for potential immortality.
Taking oneself too seriously is guaranteed to get you a permanent membership.
Taking oneself too seriously and eschewing proper spelling makes it a slam dunk.

If the hidden agenda is the controlled destruction of the United States, then all the things you point to as being insane or baffling are at once made perfectly reasonable and correct.
