October 19, 2001 -- IN the name of Allah, the most Benevolent and the Most Merciful. May this memo find you in the shade of Islam enjoying the mercy, the protection and the grace of Allah.
I write with the explicit purpose of inviting you to lead the American Muslim community in soul searching, reflection and reassessment.

Sounds like Allah is merciful to muslims only.
From a few articles I have read, it APPEARS TO ME, that a few in the Muslim communities knew what was going to happen and to those Muslims on American soil who cheered as over 6,000 innocent people died, I say what this author does, pick a country and go there, leave us alone!
This is a message asking Muslims to forbear and to remember the true meaning of jihad, not the perverted one put forth by the fanatics that is getting all the attention. It also reminds them of the reasons that they chose to live in the United States.
A message from a Christian asking Christian forbearance of perceived injuries against Christendom might not sound much different, save that it would invoke the names of God and the Nazarene instead of Allah and Muhammad and quote the Holy Scripture instead of the Quran
Nice to see Adrian College get somebody in the news

This argument is silly and that is what you are going to get when you pursue a silly semantic argument down a smelly sewer hole.
More to the point, this man is to be commended for writing this. The issue is how many other people in his community are willing to stand up to the radical Islamics. If enough do then this can be difused. If not then it might likely lead to a war between radical Islam and all of the rest of us.
The example he pointed out that Arabs in Israel are treated better than in their own countries (unless they happen to be in the ruling elite) is so true.
Honest blacks will say the same thing about blacks in America vs. Africa.
This Allah vs. God distinction would be one of the sillier things on this forum, but it is no more than the silliness of the premillenianism versus post, evangelical versus Roman Catholic, etc. Some people have too much free time on their hands.
Don't be startin' no race wars. Let's keep it a simple religous war, huh?
For the rest of us, it serves as a counterexample to the widespread assumption that there is no such thing as patriotism among American Muslims.
The Koran teaches the righteous to be ruthless to unbelievers, and to fight those who do not embrace Islam.
Jesus said: "You have heard that it was said 'You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy'. But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you salute only your brethren, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:43-48
Then Jesus said to him: "Put you sword back into its place; for all who take the sword will perish by the sword." Matthew 26:52
"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?" And he (Jesus) said to him: "You shall love the Lord your God will all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it, You shall love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the law and the prophets." Matthew 22:36-40
Forbearing one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. Colossians 3:13
Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamour and slander be put away from you, with all malice, and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:31-32
Believers, take neither Jews nor Christians for your friends. They are friends with one another. Whoever of you seeks their friendship will become one of their number. Allah does not guide the wrongdoers. Sura 5:51
Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home: an evil fate. Sura 9:73
Fight against such of those to whom the Scriptures were given as believe neither in Allah nor the Last Day, who do not forbid what Allah and His apostle have forbidden and do not embrace the true faith until they pay tribute out of hand and are utterly subdued. Sura 9:29
They worship their rabbis and their monks and the Messiah, the son of Mary, as gods besides Allah, though they were ordered to serve one God only. There is no God but Him. Sura 9:30
Mohammed is Allah's apostle. Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to one another. Sura 48:29

We do. (and as a pro-life Christian I do stand up against baby killing)
Why don't we demand that pro-abortion Christians, Jews, etc. stand up for abortion?
If they are pro-abortion then they are not Christian or Jew. What part of "thou shalt not kill" don't they understand?
Why do we have to have anyone justify their beliefs at all?
Because Islam attacked the USA. It's time for the mohammedans in this country to pick sides. They can either be Americans or they can be mohammedans. They can't be both. (read the quotes from the koran listed in the previous posts. islam stands against everything that our founding documents stand for.)
By the way, This was a very good article and the author of it has the right tack. Either live here and be pro-American or leave.
God Save America (Please)
