I read it while FR was down, and it is definitely worth a read.
But it appeared to be sourced by administration officials. If it's on the front page of the WP then Pres. Bush wants it to be there.

It's mainstream press; it reports what the gov wants it to report.

Actually the Post checked with the White House a couple of weeks ago when it received what it deemed secret material from the un-named Congresscritter. And they complied with the White House request NOT to print certain parts of the info. They've been playing ball, apparently. That's certainly good news.

Well, they must not be traitors at the Post like they are at CNN.
I still don't know what good it does to announce on the front page of one of the most read papers in the country/world where our troops are and what their mission is.

B.A. (Bush Administration) is not a bunch of bozo's. Any leaks are well calculated for the war effort, not to cover up a B.J.
To: Sandy
I don't think we should warn the terrorists who might be reading about the inaccuracy of our media reports. Let them try to gain their information from media sources----that'll fool them.

Heck, if they [terrorists] are stupid enough to believe the idiots' guide to US news (i.e. liberal press), let them . . . and let them die trusting it.

they all want to be the first ones to ask a soldier:
'was it worth it to take this hill'? (back to you peter)

Said to a friend the other day, 'I wonder just how many people CNN has gotten killed over the years.'

Heh, come on now. An unnamed Pentagon official leaks troop deployments to the Washington Post, and everyone from CNN to Fox News picks up on this within minutes, at just the right time for Pakistanis and Afghans to hear about it after breakfast. And this comes after there have been _no_ major leaks whatsover, and when Bush is asked about it in China, he cooly responds "sorry, can't talk about it." Word on CNN or Fox was that there were 3 teams, 2 to link up with CIA near Kandahar who were working on convincing Pushtuns to fight the Taliban, and another search and destroy team south of Kabul. Can we say "watch the birdie?" Heh.

Said to a friend the other day, 'I wonder just how many people CNN has gotten killed over the years.' I've often wondered about the same thing myself....
