Rep. Carolyn Maloney (Dem NY) wore one of those blue Burqas on the house floor to show "solidarity" with the women of Afghanistan. Hume just showed a clip of her speaking.

I nearly wet myself. It was a definite improvement. I just hope it catches on with other, uh, shall we say, less than attractive libs.
Anyone care to suggest any?

Later tonight Barney Frank appears on the House floor in a loincloth to show the impoverishment of peasant men in Afghanistan. On the Senate side, Ted Kennedy lies on the floor to show how water buffaloes bloat up after stepping on a landmine.

So by attacking the Pentagon and WTC towers as well as mailing out Anthrax, the taliban has convinced at least one Congresswoman to obey the shariah and wear the burqa when she is outside her home (at least once).
I imagine that the foreign (especially Middle-Eastern) press will have some fun with this event...

I don't think they make them in a black pant suit variety so I guess Hill won't be wearing one.

Amazing. The liberals were screaming for years for us to do something about the treatment of women by the Taliban (and I agree, it was atrocious). But what could we do? Economy sanctions? You need an economy for those to work. Strong language from the U.N. and the State Department? Boy, that would have the Mullahs shaking in their boots. The only way to dislodge the Taliban is by force. I wonder if we were going after the Taliban because of their treatment of women, some of the liberals protesting this action would support it. I mean, we can't go attacking the Taliban just because they kill our people.
