What a level-headed article. I'm sick of all the bumper stickers I see like this in my area. Of coure most everyone here in Eugene would love to be taken over by commies - that is until they would be forced out of their homes and starved. Few appreciate what they have until it is taken away.

SDI is not designed to replace conventional weapon systems. In simple terms, if all you have to fight the enemy is a knife, and someone hands you a rifle; what are you going to do?

Ronald Reagan spent a "fortune" (he exagerated to the Soviet Union) on SDI and brought down the Iron Curtain since the Soviets they couldn't grow enough potatoes to bulster their economy to compete with us in an arms race.

I did. Now want to discuss why Dishnet & Direct tv technology was here in 1982 actually before that but could not be deployed? It was related to Star Wars. We got in a bird war with Russia that set back that technology. We were taking each other birds out. Another point I stand by is it is very vunerable to solar flares. I'm not against it but we very well have a lot more to back it up.

Agree. It's actually written in the Constitution....to provide for the common defence. I keep reading it but can't find the word "education" anywhere.

Aaaahhhh, look deeper, Grasshopper. That would be under 'general welfare'. You know, the part where the founder's intended citizens to obtain a free ride at the behest of forcefully depleting taxpayers of their income. It sits right along side the original description and layout from the founders for prescription plans and social security, dontcha know.
