I don't know. Why are supposedly intelligent adults clueless on the President's actions/announcements?
Where would you point them?
Beyond stupid. It's absolutely insane. I work at the Library of Congress. There are underground tunnels that connect our 3 buildings with those of the Capitol, House and Senate Offices. The building I work in is across the street from Daschle's offices. I just came from a meeting about how to handle mail. I work in the Congressional Research Division of the Library, and we get and deliver mail to Congress everyday.
Our mail procedures have been changed dramatically and we have been issued gloves. Our venitilation system was turned off yesterday. I wouldn't be surprised if we are told to go home so a clean sweep could be made of the Library's buildings.
Saddam Hussein and George W. Bush meet up in Baghdad for the first round of talks in a new peace process. When George sits down, he notices three buttons on the side of Saddam's chair. They begin talking.
After about five minutes, Saddam presses the first button. A boxing glove springs out of a box on the desk and punches Bush in the face.
Annoyed, Bush carries on talking as Saddam laughs. A few minutes later the second button is pressed. This time a big boot comes out and kicks Bush in the shin.
Again Saddam laughs, and again George carries on talking, not wanting to put off the bigger issue of peace between the two countries. But when the third button is pressed and another boot comes out and kicks Bush square in the privates, he's finally had enough.
"I'm headin' back home!" he calmly tells the Iraqi. "We'll finish these talks in two weeks!"
A fortnight passes and Saddam flies to the United States for talks. As the two men sit down, Hussein notices three buttons on Bush's chair and prepares himself for the Yank's retaliation.
They begin talking and George presses the first button. Saddam ducks, but nothing happens. George snickers.
A few seconds later he presses the second button. Saddam jumps up, but again nothing happens. Bush roars with laughter.
When the third button is pressed, Saddam jumps up again, but again nothing happens. Bush falls on the floor in a fit of hysterics.
"Forget this," says Saddam. "I'm going back to Baghdad!"
George W. says through tears of laughter, "What Baghdad?"
Then we can fly in every left wing professor from all our universities and they can sing "Give Peace a Chance!"
Of course, there should be no decontamination before and during these Peace Protests by the above left wingers. Let them find out about the intent and terror they have been supporting since 9/11!
Oh great. Hillary will be on TV again suggesting another postage stamp and gay benifits.
I've seen some cracks this morning on FR about the do-nothing Congress adjourning, but consider this: My boss and some of the people I work with (non Congressional) are in those tunnels as we speak working on some legislation. I'm so freaked out right now about these tunnels being infected, I can hardly type.
