With all the new changes going on, I was thinking of all the cool thing FR does. The notify feature was sweet and I JUST found out about it. Can anyone else thing of the cool things Freerepublic has to offer (must be a member to use)? Here is my list(with URL):

The #1 bug on my list is documentation. As soon as I make a few more changes (as soon as things settle down) I'll write up some nice documentation for all that can be done.

Way cool! Bookmarked for sure.
I see the week of 12/11/00 has the highest replies 26,000+.

Gore conceded.
FR seems to be chewing up less bandwidth now.

Yes! Traffic was heavy on the sight that week, listen to me singing to the choir! By the way thank you for your hard work. You will be getting money from me at the end of the month sir. Well done.

I love the new software. I notice when I go to self-search and click on the post # that I go directly to the post (maybe it was always like that and I never noticed!! ) and 'Show Full' is great!
Good job.....am sending $hank you.

Hey, when i use the notify, it always opens a new window. Can you give the target window a name?

I just visited the link and it opened up a little window and voila` it was there. Nothing special to turn it on that I know of.

bookmarked and thanks from a grateful FreeRepublic nation...

I think the problem is how do you get that to automatically pop-up when you visit FR? I, myself, would hate to have to go to the special link everytime I visit. I'd rather just do a self-search.
And thanks for all the hard work John. I am beginning to really like how you've changed things.

Isn't it named? I believe I named it "notify".
open('/perl/notify','notify','height=200,width=200')
I'm not terribly familar with JavaScript, if that's not what I did, do you know the syntax?
To: RedWing9
thanks, i apparently was not being very clear with my question.

I just leave the window up all day... i hear a tone when i get something new. I enjoy that much more than hitting F5 all day long.

Thanks.
If I had a redirect URL on the URL which opens the little window, you would be able to bookmark, say... http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/notify?detach=1&url=http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/fr/involved
to get both the pager and a self-search in one bookmark. HRMMMM... (lightbulb)
