I do not know whether this has been posted here through another source or is being pulled in threads or not. But through military sources and a private document I saw with my own eyes 2 names have been listed as the leak to the Washington Post. p> Sen. Orrin Hatch Republican from Utah and Senator Diane Feinstein Democrat from California. If this is pulled I will understand. This source is 100% accurate. I am currently writing a piece on our national security at this current time for one of the papers I write for. This is bound to come out soon. So I figured I would post this here first.

"I am currently writing a piece on our national security at this current time for one of the papers I write for".When you write your articles could you please add the the biggest threat facing this nation is our out of control immigration, both legal and illegal.
OUR BORDERS ARE "FREE FOR ALL" AND A NATIONAL DISGRACE. AND UNFORTUNATELY, NOW A NATIONAL SECURITY NIGHTMARE.

Would some brave soul e-mail their individual offices and ask if they leaked? I'd be interested in whether or not either would respond to such a question.

If it was Feinstein, we'd best not forget about this in next year's reelection effort.
I disgree with keeping the identity of the leak(er) from the Public. Voters *MUST KNOW* their elective representative is being so irresponsible with sensitive information and unworthy of the People's trust. To keep that information quiet...well...to borrow a phrase, 'if you're not with us (the People) you're against us.'
He or she should be outed at the earliest opportunity and whatever appropriate disciplinary action ought to be taken.

I'll make a wager, that the identity of the leaker, is NEVER Officially relesed.

Orrin Hatch was just re-elected in 2000. We've got six more years of him. I think he should retire and working on becoming a Major Music Star. And if it does turn out to be him that leaked, I will start the petition to have him resign and/or recalled.

Not too far off there Steven. From what I have heard Oct.2 was to be the original date of the campaign against Afghanistan. Supposedly though there was major cold feet going on. Just like I am hearing now Powell is going to make his trip this weekend to prep whatever support he can get for a coalition for an Iraq attack.

As a Californian Republican:
I say we remove Utah Senator Orrin Hatch/Republican & California Senator Diane Feinstein/Democrat,...in that order.....
(After all, business before pleasure:)

Thanks for posting this. I'll look forward to confirmation by the NY Post.
When you get to be the age of these idiot leakers, it's pretty hard to change your spots. People like this like to blabber because they like to brag how they are "in the know." The best thing to do would be for the leadership to move them to committees where they have no opportunity to do harm.

Bush should have these Senators arrested. Senators have immunity from arrest while Congress is in session.

"...through military sources and a private document I saw with my own eyes..." "Source: Military Naval Admiral/ Security Paper"
Being a veteran formerly assigned to MI units and possessing a very high clearance, I have to question the validity of anyone claiming to have viewed "private documents" and "security papers" with their own eyes, then running off to post the info on an internet bulletin board.
Government agencies would not take such a claim lightly.
This is a hoax.

I agree 100%. There is a damage control effort underway right now on this in the form of denial up and down. I was a little upset to see that Bush is staying away from blame on Hatch. But in the long run I understand it. But at first it looks just like he is not leaking the names of blame only because of the (R) next to Hatch's name and Feinstein's name because there is such bi-partisanship right now.

There MAY not be a direct effect. This leak is definetly going to cuase more work and this leak, could possible throw a monkey wrench in the plan the administration has adopted in tackling this situation. And more work for the administration, is the last thing we need at this point. At times like this, it is always better to let the Administration do its work at its own pace.

No wonder she was the one belly-aching over Bush's comments yesterdayShe was overly emotional -- almost as if she'd been caught with her hand in the cookie jar.

What was the information that was leaked exactly? Not sure if it's true but, I heard that the information that was leaked wasn't anything to do with military movements or secrets, but that the administration told them that there was a 100% chance of another attack. If that's true, I don't know about you, but I'm glad it was leaked. I do not like it when information like that is withheld from us based on their assumption that it is 'for our own good'.

Somebody should remind her she represents the USA. No she doesn't. She represents San Francisco and Hollywood --- that's not America.
So true. How could I have been so gauche as to suggest Hollowood (sic)
and SF are American cities. Please accept my most abject apologies.

Well, nobody can fault the forthright way you just laid your credibility on the line.
If this pans out, you have given FR an impressive scoop.
