Taliban means teacher

Usama bin Laden's face is sad. Yes, it is. It is true, he is still alive, wearing his khaki made in the USA. Wanted Dead or alive, but . . .

. . . perhaps let us leave this little man to his paranoid visions of Jewish ghosts haunting him in his cave a little longer, as he speaks of spirit and tell us of his ministers of God.

He tells us he leads his men of spirit, but surrounding him instead he, sine qua non, had to habit little men who have no spirit at all, not men of spirit but little men with the souls of a lackey - there is a great difference, and I believe that even he sees them for what they are now as his own death is coming near.

So let us leave him in his cave for a few more hours of the night -- with them.

Because, I can tell you, it doesn't matter what he says in his last pontifical lectures to the world, you can see it in his face which can feel his own skin pulling down upon the bones of his skull and his soul sinks into the sunken eye sockets of his death's head, the Jewish ghosts haunting his hagridden troubled mind even more with each hour - he himself knows that these men who call themselves his ministers have no spirit at all, and he looks right into them and with disgust he sees their soul of the lackey, and himself is sickened by it, and is sickened by life itself.

I tell you, he is suffering in this way at this hour.

So let us leave him alone with them for a few more hours, with them who he now hates, his little men with the soul of a lackey and the locust and the dust.

You see? . . . he gives his last messages to the world, and speaks of his hatred of Israel, and America and the world in general, but does he speak in praise of his own ministers?

He does not - because as the hour draws near for him, he hates them as much as all of his haunting visions. He doesn't speak of them, because now he sees even them for what they are, and he hates them as well, he is sickened in his soul by them, sick of all of life. Let's leave him alone with them for a while longer.

The procession of his soldiers are about to go out, and the sanctuary, the mosque will soon be deserted - because his ministers will now send the last of his soldiers out and there will be no one left to go to the mosque.

And, there will come a time, and it is drawing very soon, when he will want to tell them, the little men who are his ministers, now they must also go out there into the desert.

The little men cannot do that - they will want to wait until a bomb drops on their head before that . . .

In fact he knows they may very well even kill him if he asks them to do that.

So now, he is stuck with them, the little men that he now hates so much.

Taliban means teacher. It is strange, in a way. For so many academicians who call themselves teachers in our own Western nations also hate America as does the Taliban, "the teacher". What is it that this Taliban, this teacher, has taught?

Usama knows that he has misjudged some things, but it is too late now. He wanted to be a teacher it seems, but he wanted to teach the entire world and it seemed to him he had to catch the attention of the entire world for everyone to listen to him. Little men with the soul of a lackey, they came, as they always seem to do for such men as Usama . . . but Usama sees now, that even they don't listen to anything, but just agree to everything. In fact, it's worse than that - they are just stupid, stupid people, and he knows it now, and, they smell bad . . .

Usama wanted the attention of the entire world - well, he got it.

But I can tell you, he is now thinking he didn't really get what he really wanted. Now it is too late, and he is there with them, the little men who he now hates. Let him be alone with them for a little longer. He deserves it.

You've written more dramatically than I would, but your point is excellent. Usama bin Laden is a demagogue who became a leader only by stirring the hatred of small-minded, bitter people. Too many in our country try to make bitterness a virtue as long as one is from a "subordinate group." Bin Laden has gathered these bitter members of a "subordinate group" and led them into destruction. May they all glimpse their condemnation before they die.

The word Taliban means "teacher" and also "religious students", also "education" or the Western sense of "university school" - Areef Hassan, Deputy Minister of Finance for Afghanistan until a leftist coup backed by the former Soviet Union toppled his government in 1978 and Hassan was ordered to stand trial for "political crimes." He later turned against the Taliban, "The regime (Taliban) is propped up and held in place with bin Laden's power and money."

Remember that the Taliban began as a student protest movement!

What do Afghanis know about Arabic ?

Look up the following roots in Hans Wehr.
  1. Tlb
  2. alm
  3. drs

It is quite a stretch to try to make Taliban a teacher. I suppose you could claim anyone can make a word mean anything but it flies in the face of the plain use of the language.
