Brain Cancer???
To: LS
If he would have explained many of us would not have speculated! Money cannot buy health. I wish him well in all of his pomposity! I enjoyed him for years, and hope to occasionally for many more.

Rush said that people have been complaining about his voice so much that his engineers have had to electronically alter his voice today, raising the pitch.
It's obvious now what the problem is. Rush can't hear himself speak. Therefore, his voice will sound different to his listeners. He can stop electronically altering his voice. Now that we know what the problem is, we can cut him some slack. Heck, all the slack he needs.
Rush is being very brave. This has to be a scary situation.

Says in a few months he will be totally deaf. Cannot hear TV or radio. Is on massive medications.OMG
M. Thatcher; holdonnow; DocLim: Please express my deepest sympathies! Why are the good people always the ones who get s**t upon the most??? I cannot see the man continuing in his duties and this will be the greatest loss to our movement I can imagine. :o( Perhaps he will continue on, writing?

I thought I was the only one who noticed the odd change in Rush's voice. I had asked several friends about it and they said they didn't notice it.
I've had a love/hate relationship with Rush for years, but this news is heartbreaking.

He waited to tell his audience and fans FIRST! I an very honored! He is why I became a Republican. I'm very worried about him.

Rush has handled himself with class and dignity while dealing with this. He could very easily have turned his loss of hearing into a summer-long pity party.
Rush is a great man and a patriotic American. I pray for his full recovery and continued strength.

Bad news for us all, of course, especially Rush.
You know what my first thought upon hearing the news was? "Rush is going deaf. Barbara Olson's dead. Reagan is fading away. Yet Alleged-Ex-President Clinton is fine. Hillary the Bitch is fine. Chuck the Schmuck is fine. Fat Teddy is fine. Barney The Frank is fine. They're all fine. Where the hell is the justice in all this?"
That's what I thought. Hang in there, Rush.

It is sad that people like you exist in this world. I don't care for Rush but I would never wish him ill will. You're sick.

I believe he will fight the good fight and stay on the air for a long time.I hope you're right. I'd rather listen to an odd-voiced Rush than a clear-as-a-bell Mario Cuomo.
Its the message, not the delivery.

"How about some more info?" Listen to Rush on the EIB...this sounds serious.

He discussed the possibility of a cochlear implant and that they are not universally successful.
Said his hearing started deteriorating around mid-May, and has progressed at a rate equivalent to a 15-year span.
So tragic, but his tone is so positive, says he will find a way to continue the show. He said that last week he was rehearsing ways to work around the deafness.
My prayers go out to him.
