USO Canteen Freeper Style
War has come to our shores. It was committed on American soil. We have been able to live in Freedom only because of those who have fought in the past wars giving life, limb and all the sacrifices for us to live in Freedom and go about our day without fear.
On September 11, 2001, that comfort, that feeling of living in a land that would not be attacked ended.
William T. Sherman said it succinctly, "War is hell."
The day has come for this Nation and its people to understand that there is a risk in losing its freedom, and in reality there always has been. We have ONLY stayed free because of the sacrifices of our military, our warriors.
This is about saving the future of America. Aristotle said, "We make war that we may live in peace."
We are seeing the American Flag flying at homes now more than ever in my lifetime. We are seeing the American Flag flying on vehicles and people wearing Flag pins and small Flags on their clothes. America is united in the cause for Freedom and for our country to WIN against the evil that came upon our land to kill and hurt us. To change our way of life and to destroy America which is US, you and me. To take away our precious Freedom.
This is the Freeper version of the USO Canteen. Where soldiers could come and feel a small part of being at home. It is a place where you that have family in the military can post a thought to a loved one that might be able to read it far away from home. A place where we that support our military can help support them, post to them, fun graphics showing the price in America and our troops. Poems, quotes, cartoons, or articles of how America is behind our troops.
Those in our military are our Nation's warriors. Let us join hands, fly our Flag and let the world know how important our warriors are to us....And that our MILITARY, our Warriors, are America's TRUE HEROS!
"No Marine was ever honored for what they received. Honor was the reward for what they gave." (Anonymous) CHIEF gave his all in many ways. He touched our lives and his friendship meant so much to all of us. He will live in our hearts forever, and his friendship will always be a bright and shining memory in our hearts and souls.

See what happens when my computer screws up ... you guys start the party without me. :0) But thanks, YatchMan, for telling me where you all are. This is fun!
I love this thread, because there's nothing in the world more important than those who serve to protect our country. God bless every single one of you!
I'd like to take this opportunity to mention that my baby son served on the USS Nimitz & crossed Khadafi's Line of Demarcation. He is a hero in my eyes, too!

"Pearl harbor was in my Mom and Dads memory forever, the Towers will be in mine and my kids memory forever." I remember the day Pearl Harbor was bombed. I was 3 years old. That's how traumatic it was, that I remember it so vividly yet today. Now 60 years later, I witness another tragedy that is more horrific. Too much for one lifetime!
I also remember that I thought Pearl Harbor was around New York City, wherever that was. Kinda ironic in a way.

Thank you ClancyJ ! Fantastic.

> My better half is currently in WI, in the Black River Falls area.
A nice place. My mother had her first teaching job in Black River Falls. ... Cold? We did have a little snow the other day, but it's back to being balmy. May get up to 60 this week. ... Thanks for the links.
Btw, I first tried to borrow a Wisconsin flag from the local VFW. They didn't have one, so after the March for Justice, I donated the one I'd bought to the VFW post (Kenosha).

I was going to bring some delicious apple cake with homemade cream cheese frosting in tonight, but I ate it all! War always makes me hungry! Maybe I am taking this "let's roll" slogan a little to seriously, since this began all I want to do is eat the forbidden sweet stuff! I will be rolling alright, in gobs of fat! LOL!
To: ladyinred
giggle ..... you are so funny. Your post made me hungry. LOL

Good Morning Everybody.
It's really nice in Vegas at this time of year. Perfect weather and temperatue. Wish it'd be like this all of the time.
What do you all think about the new BETA John Robinson is testing?
To: JudyB1938
Good Morning, and yes it is so wonderful and nice and cool .
I am such a snow , fall and winter person. So I almost hide out in the house all summer then spring into life when the temperature gets cooler again. Mr. Snow Bunny is just the opposite he love the heat and hates the cold. hahahaha
This is my first post today I saw on the word beta on the side and wondered what I was supposed to learn about it. So I am not sure what is going on yet.

Just got back to posting after traveling...what a wonderful surprise!
Billie....what an honor to be included in this creative collage....I wish I had a more photogenic picture than that one taken a DC protest a couple of years ago. I've lost 25 lbs since then and look a lot less like our beloved Barbara Bush today! LOL..... Unfortunately, I don't have a current photo to send you......but I will get one as soon as I lose another 10 lbs.
To: JulieRNR21
Julie, thank you for being a part of this, I have notified the Air Force Base here in Las Vegas, and the Marine Club. They are all lurking in the Canteen threads and told me they love it.
Thank you so much for all you do.
To: SunnyUsa; JudyB1938; JulieRNR21
Good afternoon, girls. I'm just now able to open this thread past post #70 - either it's AOL, my browser, or FR, or all of them, but trying to get anywhere online this morning has not been without frustration. Thanks for coming to visit, and remember that we're a daily thread, so just search for USO Canteen each day and come back.
Julie, whenever you're ready, just send me the new photo, and I'll change it. Louie and I think you look sorta like a General giving orders in this photo! And we say that affectionately, you know that. :^)
