Like MadIvan has stated many times, Blair was never personally close to Clinton.
I suspect that their reported friendship was much of the media making. It suited the media agenda.

"a touching letter from a fourth grade girl" - too clintonesque. And inappropriate too.Maybe so, but GWB really got one (not one ginned up by sleazy staffers).

Reaganesque. Clinton just tried to copy it by reading letter she never received. How do I know he never received such letters? Because the Clinton White House threw letters away unopened, just like they wouldn't accept most calls or reply to even a fraction of their mail. They were only interested if money was involved.

Today we focus on Afghanistan, but the battle is broader. Every nation has a choice to make. In this conflict, there is no neutral ground. If any government sponsors the outlaws and killers of innocence, they have become outlaws and murderers themselves. And they will take that lonely path at their own peril. Another great speech today, and this was my favorite part...

Well, if you don't see how inappropriate it is to use that letter, you are really pathetic. No, you're the one who is pathetic! I was a "military Daddy" for 22 years of my life. Had my daughter sent a letter like that to our President I would have beamed with pride! My years of service were given to the defense of my countrymen. This starts with my family, and goes all the way up to the President, to include losers like you.
The people who make up the US military, and their families, know and accept sacrifices that are made to our nation. No one wants to die, but we are ready to give the last full measure of our devotion to this GREAT NATION! That a child of a warrior understands this is a thing of great beauty. I'm glad the President shared that with the American People. They need to know and support the families behind our warriors.

Ah, you really are a fool. As if anyone cares what you suspect! And yes, to my kids, I was a Sugar Daddy, as I always treated them as the treasures they are. If you were my kid, we'd go out behind the woodshed were you'd learn the meaning of respect from this old Suggar Daddy!

Many Thanks John! I'm at work and could not listen/watch. I appreciate your efforts.
