October is "Respect Life Month." Today, October 7th, is National Life Chain Sunday. Please check your local parishes, churches, synagogues, mosques and/or your place of worship to see where and when the life chain will be forming in your community today. Join thousands in your community lining sidewalks holding signs and flags opposing the killing of unborn children. Remember, generations depend on saving the life of just ONE CHILD!

Lovely links, mah dear! Amazing how many of them I've clicked on recently, including
Monty Python's Completely Useless Website.
Just got back from the San Jose one. Several dozen people. Not a lot of reaction one way or another (I guess I expected more hate from the baby-killer crowd). Everybody kept asking what parish I belonged in and I'm not part of any church, so most, if not all of them, were Catholic. They were great and they commented that they loved my enthusiasm (it's like I've done this protesting thing before). :)
My sign was recycled from the March For Life in D.C. this past January. I framed it into a civil rights issue. Plus I also had one of those stop-sign themed "Stop Abortion Now" signs.
Gotta cut this post short...gotta check out the "Peace"-niks in Palo Alto...allegedly Chelsea's old stomping grounds. :)

Well maybe you have found your calling...I was just glad that I posted it before I went to bed last night. The priest in our parish spent the entire homily on the "right to life" and even covered the elderly as well as the unborn. We had a good showing in Fountain Valley, CA today at Mile Square Park. I won't lie, I heard nothing of this chain until I read this. No mention in church. I'm gonna have a little talk with some people!

Hard fought indeed!!

Thanks for the bump, Mercuria.
HEFFERNAN, sorry I'm too late to join a life chain, but I talk about this issue constantly.
Today is my birthday, and it's appropriate for this to be the day for a cause I believe in with all my heart.
Thanks for posting this.

The priest in our parish spent the entire homily on the "right to life" and even covered the elderly as well as the unborn. Your Parish is Blessed to have such a caring priest. I have NEVER (that's right, NEVER) heard a homily on the right to life since a priest asked us to send a telegram to Gov. Ronald Reagan to beg him not to sign the abortion bill that had just been past by the CA legislature. This pre-dated Roe v. Wade.
I am Catholic, and I have attended churches all over this country. I am sad to say that that has been my experience. Most pastors are too skittish to bring up the subject.

Our Life Chain in New Braunfels, Texas was fairly well attended. Especially considering that the news had started broadcasting the news on the bombing of Afghanistan. We had beautiful weather and a cool breeze. Today's gathering seemed to have an added meaning. I chose the "Lord, please forgive and bless our nation" sign. Definitely an added meaning.

Thanks for the bump. I like life chains but hadn't heard anything about yesterday. I've just moved into my area and am not plugged into much around here yet.
Time to get rolling.
Shalom.

Mey buddy!
Why did'nt you say you wanted to be in life chain? Our church does one every year, the first Sunday of October...I am sure that I can flag you and AnnaZ next year, say mid September, if you don't mind driving all the way down to PCH and Artesia...
In fact, when you flagged me for this, we were on our way to the 1:30 to 3:00 pm Life chain. C'ya at next year's!
