Are these regular box cutters, or assault box cutters?

This is time they could be spending figuring out a way to pry another dime out of the pockets of their citizens.

Boxcutters, razors, baseball bats, chains, knives, cars with road-rage drivers, and oh yes, guns...all MAY BE tools of violence when violent people use them as such. The majority of us are not violent people.

As O'Rielly says "this is ridiculous".

Bump from one SD freeper to another.
Really, though, as a fine-scale modeler (those plastic model kits) such knives are quite valuable as a tool. They're valuable for all manner of things, really.
Next thing you know they'll be manufacturing 'safety' knives just like those useless 'safety scissors' from grade school.

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater...confidence than an armed man. - Thomas Jefferson

Are these regular box cutters, or assault box cutters? If they have more than ten snap-off sections per blade, they're assault box cutters.

I clicked on this thread because I thought it was gonna be a joke. What will they think of next.

I think most of us will be relatively safe from fanatic Islamic fundementalist terrorism, if we will just stay out of those damn "gun-free victimization zones" that our government keeps creating.
Speak softly and carry a concealed .45.
Let's roll, lock and load.

Every time I think the government can't possibly descend any further into sheer lunacy, they prove me wrong...

Maybe we should pass a law against murder.

Good Lord A'Mighty! I ignored this post because I thought it was the usual rather-silly parody of "When Boxcutters are outlawed, only outlaws..." that usually pops up around here at such times.....
But this is a "serious" article by a mainstream writer.... whew!

The one I carry is a real doozy, it is sheathed in plastic(hence less likely to trigger x-ray machines), and the blades can be broken off to keep sharp. I register it at the paint store everytime I buy one though, it even requires a signature(on the bill)

If this keeps up, pretty soon, terrorists will have to resort to sharpened screwdrivers, steak knives, awls, pick axes, nuclear bombs, bioweapons, or buses!
Gosh, it's important that we at least try to stop boxcutter terrorism now...maybe sell them only to special, trained and certified indivuduals within the govt. Boxcutters have no legitimate sporting use. Someone close the Sears Craftsman "loophole", please!

Jeez, I'll probably have to get a BATF tax stamp to go under the handle of my heavy-duty contractor grade retractable utility knife.

I am organizing a Million Mom March against boxcutters. Please send me $10.00 and I'll let everyone know when and where the march will take place as soon as I get all the details ironed out. Thank you.

They're normally safe in the hands of responsible people. We just need to make sure we don't sell them to Arabs.

I usually carry a small "box cutter" with a clip that holds
it onto my shirt pocket to clip articles out of newspapers.

Well, if they outlaw boxcutters I'm gonna have to find a different job. Use them everyday to (gasp) open boxes. With false teeth it's kinda hard to rip the boxes open that way.
