"Tabby's problem appears to be one of style, not content.

The message is largely correct, but the rabbid-dog delivery has closed everyone's ears. - Tabby is right, how can a people who even pay property taxes call themselves free? "

Thank you!

It's what I was refering to in post # 18.

I thought...... "I can just picture Osama out there now, wiping his ass with his left hand, tapping his palm pilot with his right so he can get the latest military secrets from Free Republic".......to be quite amusing.

To the pacifists among us: What would you have us do to make the terrorists stop their attacks?

Look at the eyes of most pacifists, don't you usually see a glint of psychosis? Lots of them love these oppressive regimes. I imagine they keep scrapbooks of all the innocent victims. I DON'T want to meet a pacifist in a dark alleyway. I DON'T believe most of them are really pacifists.

For a time after September 11, people like me were called 'pacifist.' Our position was that we shouldn't mistake this for a general war against the West, we shouldn't nuke the entire Middle East, shouldn't expand this into a war against radical Islam, we shouldn't carpet bomb Afghanistan.

Our position was that we should go after Osama bin Laden and the leaders who gave him harbor. Moreover, if we could do this using internal Afghan resistance fighters rather than massive influxes of US troops, so much the better.

You'll notice that this is now pretty much the opinion of the Bush Administration, ninety percent of the population, and most FReepers as well.

I'm glad you've all come around to my point of view. But what I find interesting is that I've gone from 'pacifist' to 'war hawk' in three weeks, without changing my position.

There are a great many interesting things to be seen and heard, here in the cave.
