Perhaps you can help me. During the VietNam war a fellow co-worker had to go. He was young, as was I, and I told him if he sent me his address I'd write to him. He sent an APO address and I wrote to him while he was in VietNam. When he came back he held my hands and said "You will never, ever know how much your letters meant to me". Now I'd like to do the same for a military person engaged in our current war. but I knew Jimmy and he sent me an address. I've searched the Internet and can't find anything about writing to a military person who might, like Jimmy, have anyone who will write. Today I went to our local American Legion hall, expecting to find someone who might help and just found a bar with about six guys. I feel this is important and I'd really like one American soldier to know that this American appreciates what he's doing for us and helping in any way I can. Can anybody help as to identifying a soldier who may need letters from home? Thanks!

Thanks for the "Happy Birthday". It's #54 today and I'm not really celebrating, but ,as my dad used to say, another birthday, as bad is it might be, is better than the alternative....! He was right, but he only lived to 55!

Hey old pal! I bought a M1 just like yours in your picture at the gun show at the Astrohall a few weeks ago. (No bayonet yet though!) Havn't fired an M1 since 1962 at Camp Lejuene. The M14s were just getting to the Crotch at that time. We would get the latest stuff only after the Army had theirs and picked over all the good stuff. BTW, I remember all the fun we had at our rallies in the freezing rain in Houston after the election. You and your "better half" were part of the backbone of our Freeper group. Thanks!

Ah.......the weapons bag jump.
Damn difficult with a mushroom canopy, to position yourself for a PLF on the opposite leg of the weapons bag. In '67 they never thought about dropping the bag phirst! HELLO!?!

I love watching the Thunderbirds. You are going to have a marvelous time. I will be there in spirit for sure.

Hey, old friend,
We haven't crossed paths in quite awhile!
That day of the rally I call "the-day-my-hair-froze-to-my-head"!
That was a lot of fun!
I fired the M-1 for the first time at Camp Mathews scoring expert, but not in a rainstorm like CHIEF did it.
Heck, I can't help it if it wasn't raining!
My "better-half" is now my "better-halved".
LOL!
Good to see you!

G-D it's been a long time ... I believe that since I was Navy my family sent me mail thru the FPO (fleet post office) I could ask my mom how they sent me mail. My sister used to send me rice krispie treats (one of my favorites) You have NO IDEA how good it felt to get those

Good Lord! Don't ever call a Marine a soldier. >>So true... and never EVER tell them that they are part of the navy...<<
They REALLY like being reminded that they are the "Navy's Army".

You're may be needed on the homefront Marine. This Country just might need a few good Men here to keep us all secure.

First sumbitch spits on a vet will have my thumbprints on his trachea, no joke. DAMN! I have no idea what I'd do,but I suspect it wouldn't be pretty. I got dizzy and started seeing dots in front of my eyes just reading your comments and thinking about it. I'm not a nice man when things like that happen.

In '67 they never thought about dropping the bag phirst! HELLO!?! Really? I THINK I used a drop line on my 5th jump (equipment) at jump school, and I KNOW we were using them in SF in 1964. My first jump at Bragg was a night equipment jump out of a C-47,and carrying a spare M-2 barrell.
To: CHIEF Negotiator
That should have said,
You're services may be needed on the homefront Marine.
That's what happens when I try to watch TV and type at the same time.. :)
