Does anyone know anymore about this incident?

Let's hope that they are caught!

At 8:50 a.m. the man sttod on the Sarasota bayfront waiting for the presidential motorcade to pass. A dilapidated van passed him with two men of Middle Eastern descent "screaming out the windows,'Down with Bush' and raising their fists in the air". Probably a couple of DU disruptors.........

If this story is true, it is probably more of a psychological mission (psy-op?) than one planned with the real intent to kill the President. If the Secret Service is so inept as to allow "journalists" in to see the President without clearance, Bush's days are numbered.

The agent told the occupants of the van to contact the president's public relations office in DC and turned them away from the premises, Mooneyhan said.big mistake, retraining ALERT !
The agent should have investigated. He should have approached the van, taken pictures of occupants and questioned them. SHEESH ! I guess we really are easy, untrained targets.

This is how Al Queda murdered that Iraqi leader, pretending they were reporters, they set up the camera, and shot him.
What is so verrrrry disburbing is their knowledge of Bush's schedule. The average person can't find out where the President is going to be at any given time. How did these guys know? Who, close enough to the President, that knows his comings and goings, is working for terrorists?
Doesn't he have a muslim body guard with the Secret Service?

I frequently visit Longboat Key as it's one of my favorite "shopping and lunch" destinations. The Colony is a pricey complex of muted grey-blue, low-height, woodsy-looking hotel rooms nestled among thick palm and garden areas.
Paths lead hither and thither from building to building and to the restaurant area. It's secluded, but right off the main and only road running along the narrow islet that is Longboat Key. LK is adjacent to Sarasota.
I'm sure (and I hope) the President was well-protected as there's so many hiding places.
The Colony has the best rack-of-lamb I ever had!.

makes me wonder if they were trying the same gig that they did with the leader of the Northern aliance in afganistan. What town was this in?

Again, apologies to all for being distracted by the mention of tasty rack-of-lamb (Drool!)
Ahem, back On-Topic. This may have been a clumsy attempt at the President. The timing is suspicious.
Perhaps it was the "D-minus" team of Jihadis.
It bears investigating. If these jerks can be caught, they will talk. No, they will sing like canaries. Most of their talk will be BS, but there may be a pony in all that horsesh-t.

I was at the Bayfront that day standing near where the president drove by, with a sheriff and or police car every 100yards I assure you no one had the Balls to yell bad things about the president, I have never seen that much security for anyone in my life, and the crowds were happy and respectful... We have lots of rednecks with beards in old vans that live in sarasota, its not uncommon to see them at all especially towards the beach area and Bayfront around Marina Jack. I don't by this article. fiction
