I'll follow her columns regardless of where she works.

To: JeanS, all Coulter cultists
I can't believe some of the conservatives who are flocking to condemn the National Review. Mere months ago NR ran a cover story in favor of a Constitutional amendment prohibiting gay marriage, but suddenly because they dump Coulter they're "RINOs." NR isn't turning "leftist" because they got rid of one whiny loudmouth who thinks she's entitled to use their magazine, which has contributed more to conservatism than she could ever hope to, as her personal soapbox with no restrictions. What NR did was take out the trash, and I say good riddance.

I will say this about National Review: they were irresponsible for not cutting Coulter's infamous line in the Barbara Olson column ("We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity"). I'm not sure how the editorial chain of command works, but if I were the man in charge I'd give whoever edited Coutler's piece holy hell.

As for Coulter crying "censorship" because her editor told her she couldn't use certain language in a column — tough! Maybe no one informed her, but here in America we have something called private ownership. At any publication, just like at Free Republic, the only real free speech belongs to the person or people with final say over content. Coulter's rhetoric was getting too caustic for NR, so they let her go (I suspect after she pitched a fit about an editor cutting her columns). That's their perogative. The fact that she's whining about it proves to me that they made the right decision.

Dumping one hysterical, semi-talented jingoist pundit from the columnist roster is no black mark on NR in my book. I'm keeping my subscription.

Oooohhhhh Noooooo! Say it ain't so!

Well Anne, if you need anything, a place to crash, anything, let me know. I'm here for you baby.

Kidding aside: Anne was right. This political correctness thing has gone a lot deeper than I would have ever thought. W constantly using the 'justice' crap when anybody short of planet Mars knows it has nothing to do with justice. It's war.

Then there's all this clamping down on ma and pa six pack while we mince around trying to accomodate all the rag-heads.

The political correct crowd (and that may mean YOU Mr. Gung Ho Kill Em All American) refuses to admit that we are neck deep in a religious war with a knife at our throats .... but Anne knows. Netanyahoo knows. Osamayomama knows.

Oh, and the fact that Coulter whined about being "censored" on Politically Incorrect is just the icing on the cake. I'm sure she and Bill Maher had a joint sob session afterward, in which they both cried profusely in a maudlin display of self-pity about being oppressed by the heartless, repressive forces of "PC."

As for waffling on what she meant by "convert them to Christianity" — give it up, Ann. Anyone who can read sees your meaning plain as day. Once a lawyer, always a lawyer.

Now that Ann will have a little more time on her hands, maybe I should ask her if she wants to take on my case. I could use a constitutional scholor type? LOL

Ann Coulter is a very brave, valuable, talented, beautiful, & very dear person ---

& a great American, --- but she, ---- quite understandably, ----

went a bit off the deep end with anger & grief over her dear friend,

and great irreplacable American, Barbara Olson's tragic death at the hands of the terrorists.

In any event, Coulter doesn't believe the controversy is hurting her. "Frankly, I'm getting a lot of great publicity," she says.

I like her attitude.

Coulter's a sacrificial lamb or goat. National Review is going out on a limb with the neo-con warriors. Letting her go obscures this fact. She represents a different kind of crusade than they do -- more Richard the Lionheart than Woodrow Wilson or Norman Podhoretz -- so she's expendable.

The other side of the coin, is, what if Eric Alterman or Molly Ivins or Paul Begala made a comment of this sort?

"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity,"

Well it was a stupid statement. How can you convert dead leaders to Christianity? She should have stated that we should convert everyone we don't kill to Christianity. It was her grammer that got her in trouble. Syntax can be deadly.

What we need at a time like this is a Pope who has the cajones to call a CRUSADE. Too bad Maggie Thatcher isn't Catholic.

IF this is true (especially about the "Christianization" of "their leaders"), they were right to CAN her! Disappointing...

"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity," the conservative commentator declared in her column on National Review Online.

I suppose if she had said, "We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and bomb them into the stone ages" that would have been acceptable. You see it's not the killing or bombing which makes some people queasy, it's the mere mention of "Conversion to Christianity" which offends them. I am at pains to figure out why any Christian would be offended at the suggestion since converting others to Christianity is one of our basic creeds.

"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity,"

Right on, even if it does sound a bit like history repeating itself. "Crusades II" anyone? This really should make a great movie, or maybe "Towering Infernals II?"

Good, now she can join a good journal and not a politacally correct rag. FOX news at least isn't a butt boy for the liberals. Grow some balls, and quit worrying about insulting any and everyone. Take a stand for our way of life and to hell with kissing up to every faction. I am a Christian and you will have to kill me to make me quit letting it be known. I am an American and you will have to kill me to make me quit being proud of it. I don't give a damn about kissing some others butt cause I don't want to offend. These foreign students that are offended, the hell with them, Go Home.

Convert them to Christianity after they're dead?

I certainly agree with her - we must invade their countries and kill the leaders. Converting religions is silly and unattainable. This is an emotional outburst.

On Maher's ABC show, Coulter accused National Review of having "censored" her by refusing to run the follow-up column. She said yesterday that National Review Editor Rich Lowry and his deputies "are just girly-boys."

Sorry. I'm not participating. I love Ann, but for her to go from one set of girly men (NR) to another (Maher) makes her no better than that two-faced Arianna Huffington.
