National Review Cans Columnist Ann Coulter

Even by her usual incendiary standards, Ann Coulter's response to the terrorist attacks was something of a jaw-dropper.

"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity," the conservative commentator declared in her column on National Review Online.

Those words created an uproar at the Web site, which refused to run a follow-up piece in which Coulter singled out what she called "swarthy males." She promptly began bad-mouthing National Review, which responded by axing her as a contributing editor.

I think Ann was pissed off and wrote a column in a hurry. Her friend Barbara Olsen and 7,000 other innocent civilians were murdered by these pigs, and televison video showed crowds of animals dancing in the streets, celebrating the carnage. Did Ann "go over the top"? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, I don't care.

Anything we do to those terrorist pigs and their despicable supporters is fine and dandy with me. Gas 'em. Nuke 'em. Give them a "crusade". Whatever. It all works for me. Maybe that's how Ann felt when she wrote her column.

IF this is true (especially about the "Christianization" of "their leaders"), they were right to CAN her! Disappointing...

Philosophy like that is what started the Crusades a thousand years ago......

What started the Crusades was the Pope's realization that thousands of Christians in the Holy Land were being systematically slaughtered by Islamic warriors bent on conversion by the sword.

The "causation" for her being fired may have just been discovered.

"Liberty for me, but not for thee,"
Had already soiled her NR didee.
Converting the Muslims was just Coulter's  way
Of saying, "Enjoy yourselves.
You vill haff a nize day !"

I suspect you are a liberal since you are taking facts out of context to make you case.

MacArthur was not fired for wanting to convert Japan to Christianity; that is, he was not fired for working to send Christian missionaries to Japan to convert them to Christianity.

He was fired for strongly disagreeing with and disobeying Truman's wishes in the Korean war..

Conservatives supported Mac's idea of sending Christian missionaries to Japan. He did not get in trouble for that, but was supported.

MacArthur did not say anything about forced conversion, neither did Ann Coulter.

Liberals are the only ones who have said "forced conversion"

I read you post 145 and was glad to read that.

She is only recommending the same as MacArthur did.

We have a different America now, I am sure they would think MacArthur was an intolerant bigot who wanted to force people to convert, although he never said that.

I agree with you. Ann Coulter epitomizes what's wrong with the modern day Stupid Party. She does everything she can to accentuate her looks, during her countless t.v. appearances (batting the eyes, brushing hair constantly, adolescent giggling, etc.), yet she appears, at least to me, to be incredibly thin and hardly sexy. Of course that should be irrelevant in terms of her credibility as a talking head, but since that seems to be the chief asset she's selling, I think it's appropriate for naysayers to comment on her looks as well. Every time I've watched her on t.v., she seems to lose the debate, even though I'm usually on her side as she battles with the evil likes of Bill Maher or Geraldo Rivera. So, IMHO, she is not a very good spokesperson for those who share her views, and that's coming from someone who all too often agrees with the rhetoric (if not the reality) of the Stupid Party.

"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity," the conservative commentator declared in her column on National Review Online.

I suppose if she had said, "We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and bomb them into the stone ages" that would have been acceptable. You see it's not the killing or bombing which makes some people queasy, it's the mere mention of "Conversion to Christianity" which offends them. I am at pains to figure out why any Christian would be offended at the suggestion since converting others to Christianity is one of our basic creeds.

"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity,"

Right on, even if it does sound a bit like history repeating itself. "Crusades II" anyone? This really should make a great movie, or maybe "Towering Infernals II?"

Yes it would be impossible to have faith in a God who plays Palm Beach Bingo with people's salvation. Fortunately that's not what the Bible says God does. "God is not willing that any should perish but all come to eternal life." This puts the onus on men to accept or reject. People who will accept a Savior from their sin, will get one. People who insist on being proud that "they need no salvation," will get the consequences.
