‘NORMAL' BUSHES LEAD BY EXAMPLE

September 30, 2001 -- WASHINGTON - The king of Jordan was in the Oval Office to talk about the war on terror, but President Bush wanted to discuss something completely different before the photo opportunity was over.

"21:45," Bush proudly told a reporter who's an avid runner. The President meant he had run three miles in 21 minutes and 45 seconds - or a speedy 7:15 per mile. Not bad for a 55-year-old with plenty on his mind.

I would presume Runsfeld was way tooooo busy - and besides, Rumsfeld was busy because he already had his orders from the President. Get a grip!!

Thanks for posting this. I read Ghost Soldiers this past summer; it is an amazing story, and I'm sure the President will be inspired by it. One of the Rangers who participated in the liberation of Cabanatuan lives in my area. I'd love to bump into him one day and shake his hand, but I would probably break down in tears. Talk about heroes.

The Clinton's were notorious for stiffing either the service or the entire bill believing that it was an entitlement to their position and greatness as opposed to them actually paying for services rendered to an alleged "public servant".

Because the Clintons have NEVER had to EARN any of it! They have cheated it from 'friends', embezzeled it or begged for it. A REAL CLASS ACT.(NOT)

It's great to have adults, honor, and reason back in the White House.

With the Clintons, all we got was adultery, dishonor, and treason.

Thank you, kattracks, and thank you, Deborah Orin! And, thank you, dear God, for President Bush and his family. Protect and keep them every moment of every day.

Jenna shouldn't complain about the hour she was awakened! My brother called me a little before 6 am PDT to tell me about the attacks! Of course, under the circumstances I was wide awake in moments!
Great article, love hearing about the ordinary lives of the First Family, especially during these trying times.

I find it interesting that the Bush daughters are calling more often. So are my daughters and son. Everyone is more in touch with their families and friends.

I have the feeling that Thanksgiving and Christmas this year, among those who didn't lose anyone to the terrorists, will have a whole lot more to do with being grateful for another holiday to spend together than it will have to do with food and glitter.

My wife called her folks who were on vacation in Hawaii. It was at about 4:30 am local time. Of course she had to do this because both of her brothers live and work in Manhattan. Fortunately everyone is OK.

Thanks Kattracks for posting this! What a wonderful change to have a happy and stable couple as POTUS and First Lady!!

How sweet and typical of a real married couple--cuddled up in a big bed with snoring pets surrounding them. It reminds me of how hubby and I have to share the bed with two cats who take the choice spots and force us onto the edges---LOL!

This morning a reporter asked him whether we were in a recession and he said, "I'll leave that to the number crunchers, we have statisticians who figure that out. I just know that people are hurting and we're going to do something about it." I love this man. Can you imagine what Gore would have said?
