Yes ...its true. I discovered today that I have been banned from DU(h) simply for the following ....
Offense #1.
Replying to a post that was complaining that given the political atmosphere since 9-11 odds are that our country will probably have a Republican House, Senate, and President after the 2002 election. I replied ... one can only hope.
Offense #2.

But I figured that freedom of thought and expression were ideals that the Democrats cherished. Even a 'normal' discussion of the facts is not allowed unless you agree with the leftist party line. For example, if you post information about Ng Lap Seng and his meetings with Clinton in the White House, you will get banned. But if you post information about Bush and the Oilmen, you are welcome.
Here, you can talk about Bush Sr and the cocaine conspiracy without being banned. You can't talk about Clinton and the cocaine conspiracy over there. That is the difference, and that is why this site flourishes with ideas and their site languishes in darkness. They are simply afraid of the truth, they are afraid to even look for the truth, if the truth will damage the credibility of their party. This site is not afraid of pursuing the truth, even if it will damage the party, because this site is about ideals and ideology, not party affiliation.
But what's most disturbing is that they hate ideas. They hate almost any idea that does not support their way of thinking, and they are going to ban anyone who supports an idea that is opposed to their philosophy. That is what makes them, and the Democratic party, very scary.
Bastion, maybe--but THOUGHT has little to do with the place, and the people inhabiting same.

I was banned about 6 or seven times so far. The latest ban was today. :-)

Here they, in such self righteous mode, complain about disappearing posts on FR as if posts there donn't get deleted for the simple crime of expressing an opposing point of view.
2) Go to DU and re-register new screen names for yourself, using your free email addresses.
3) FReep their archives. Pick out a thread(s) out of the many there, find arguments (lies) of theirs that you disagree with and post your rebuttals. Remember to stay civil. No foul language or name calling.
When you make a post on their archived threads, it doesn't get bumped to the top where everyone will see it and respond. The archived thread stays right where it is when you post on it and you get in the last word. Most likely, no one, not even the moderators, know you have done this and your posts probably won't get deleted.
In my limited time there, I never attacked anyone, I never called anyone any names, I always answered every question posited to me. I was called names, I was harassed, I was attacked with ad-hominems. Nevertheless, I was banned.

Play the part of a rabid COMMUNIST and do it with fervor! Spout off all the anti-capitalist rhetoric you can spew!...It'll re-define their website and convince the middle-of-the-road Democrats there that their party is falling off the face of the American landscape.
We call them communists and socialist, but we can't make the dent from HERE, can we?....Let them hear it on their own turf, for a change.
