There has been a total of zero comments from any muslims over the christian workers the taliban seized, they are hypocrites to the max. ditto the civil war in the sudan, ignored by the other islamic countries our the western domestic muslims, or our domestic so called 'black" leaders, either, for that matter. I note that Berlusconi was careful to speak of Islamic culture and Islamic civilization, rather than the religion of Islam itself. I don't pretend to know much about the religion, but I would surprised to learn that there is anything in it that intrinsically puts it in opposition to democracy and freedom.

But the simple fact is that in countries dominated by Islamic culture, there is little tradition of respect for democracy. Certainly there are no democracies anywhere in the Arabic world. That is a simple fact.
