Hot off the presses:
PESHAWAR, Pakistan, Sept 25 (Reuters) - The United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR) said on Tuesday it was preparing for an exodus of over 1.5 million Afghans to neighbouring countries.
UNHCR spokesman Yousuf Hassan said nearly one million refugees could arrive in Pakistan and nearly half a million in Iran. Plans were underway in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan to accommodate a further 150,000.
"The UNHCR is planning for an expected 1.5 million Afghans fleeing into neighbouring countries," he said.
The agency said tens of thousands of Afghans were on the move inside the country to try to avoid threatened U.S. strikes against Osama bin laden and his Taliban protectors.

The myth that is being floated is that by bombing Afghanistan we will be killing innocent people. The truly innocent have already fled, did so when the Taliban took over. The remaining innocent have a better chance of surviving if we bomb Afghanistan than they do if we don't.

Like a "Foul Bacillus" the Talaban will enter the refugee camps of Pakistan and infect that country. You don't capture these people, their locus changes. They will find a rich recruiting ground among the displaced masses, the promise of paradise sounds good to refugees living in squalor.

We have a truly unique situation here. We need to go into these camps and bring food in crates with big American flags on the side. Serve the food with American workers. Bring in American doctors and American Muslim clerics. We must PROVE to these people that Americans are not anti-muslim or anti-Afghani. Lets end the propaganda campaigns by letting people see the truth with their own eyes.

To Straight Vermonter.....I like your idea of bringing in American citizens to hand out American food to the refugees.

I was certain that it was Milosevic planning on expelling all the Afghans with his super duper telekinetic mind powers from the Hague. Now I'm confused.
