Hockey fans at Philadelphia's Rangers-Flyers game Thursday night were so enthralled with President Bush's speech that they actually forced the cancellation of the game's third period to continue watching on the arena's Jumbotron.
But seated in the House chamber, New York Senator Hillary Clinton was rolling her eyes, looking bored and remained seated as her colleagues gave Bush one standing ovation after another.
Friday morning her disengaged demeanor was being roundly panned by talk radio hosts everywhere.
"You know why she reacted that way," WABC's Curtis Sliwa told his partner Ron Kuby."She just saw her hopes to run for president next time around go up in smoke."
Down radio dial in New York, nationally syndicated talker Don Imus was even harder on the former first lady.
"She was disgraceful," Imus told his partner Charles McCord. "She looked irritable, rolling her eyes and talking."
Imus didn't care much for Sen. Clinton's post speech comments either. "I mean, she was going out of her way to point out how she'd spent the entire week down at ground zero, which is not true, by the way. But I think we know what that's all about."
Imus then turned his ire towards Mrs. Clinton's husband. "I just thank God that he's not still the president, that's all, because we didn't have to endure the self aggrandizing display of lip-biting and head wagging and 'I love you' to some bimbo in the balcony."
CNBC finally found a way to cover the bald spot on Schmuck Chumer's head!
She was on the front lines of the George Bush bashing campaign. Due to an attack on the continental US, that party has been abruptly cancelled.
Being forced to sit and look politely interested as our president gave that beautiful speech must have been nearly enough to give her a stroke.
Did anyone see the scene the other day where Hillary is forced to stand by Rudy "The Rock" Guiliani while he's honored as a hero? Not long ago, during her campaign for the Senate, Hillary nearly destroyed not only Guiliani's political carreer, but tried to destroy his character and his life as well.
Now she is forced to stand beside him and look polite, if not interested, while he is honored over and over as a hero and a pillar of strength.
How about the police officers whom Hillary encouraged her supporters to spit on? Now they too are heros, warriors who lost their lives in battle on American soil.
Hillary has spent decades causing...or at least encouraging evil. Her entire life's work has gone up in a flaming holocost that cost the lives of 6,000+ people and changed out society forever.
So, be a little understanding with Hillary. There's only so much crow one mortal can take, and she's getting double helpings.
I understand how hard these past ten days have been for Hillary, and, understanding, I still hope she chokes on all that crow.
God bless America. And a BIG PA Ping to Governor Tom Ridge for his new appointment.
I know he must go through the line quickly, but I would have LOVED it if he had stood there, hand extended, waiting for the Marxist to finally cave in or walk away. While the cameras ran through several painfully long moments of dead air, he would look patient, willing to literally 'reach out' to his nay-sayers, and she would have had that impertinence, immaturity, and hatefulness forever attached to her.
Can't someone just pour a bucket of water on her like in the Wizard of Oz and we could all watch her disolve.
Last night I promised myself I would not Hillary-bash for as long as I could refrain from it, so don't construe paragraph one as a bash. I'm merely passing along a request by trailer dwellers.
That is the real Hillary. She can't keep up a false front like her husband could. Every now and then the mask falls down and she shows the world her true self. This, among many other reasons, is why Hillary has no future career in elective politics and probably faces an tough fight to hold on to her seat 5 years from now.
