I just heard Donald Rumsfeld on the radio answering reporters' questions, and one reporter asked if the operation in the middle east would really be named "Infinite Justice."
When Rumsfeld replied that he had 'heard' the name, but that it might not be the actual name of the action, the reporter replied that he had spoken to Muslim clerics, and that "infinite justice" was offensive because "only Allah can provide infinite justice."
To which Rumsfeld replied that we would not name it anything that might be offensive!
Thoughts?
I know that some militants in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan are dancing in the streets. What you don't understand is that the political leaders in those countries are trying to cooperate with the U.S. - but we should not put them in the position of having to squander their political capital on trying to explain an ill-chosen mission name.
Do you think it will improve our situation if the militants overthrow the rulers in Saudi Arabia, etc.? This is what you are unwittingly encouraging with careless remarks. We need discipline and clear thinking now. Undermining our allies by giving the enemy a propaganda tool for the militants would be a big mistake.
Loose lips can destroy the military alliance.
"U.S. May Dump 'Infinite Justice' Name"
True indeed. Of course since modern physics originated from Christian Europe, and the engineering application of Physics evolved from that, then I'd assume that a Christian God was not opposed to their development in the US miltary industrial complex.
Thusly, as long as God allows F=MA to work, then assault rifles, missiles, artillery and jet engines should continue to work just fine regardless of what "Allah" prefers.
It amazes me....
That the same "conservatives" here, that denounce
the varying life-styles in America; calling those
life-styles immoral and ungodly and wish they
could put an end to those life-styles..
fail to comprehend another's religion finding our
entire free society and culture both immoral and
ungodly - and wishing they could put an end to it.
The terrorists are extremists, radicals, and not
part of the mainstream, just as the Oklahoma
bombing was not done by someone representing
our mainstream.
The continuing denouncing of the entire Middle
East population, is disgusting and not conducive
to the Freedom and Liberty we preach.

Several, but I'll name one. Why don't we just ask then what would be acceptable?
We had better get some gratification soon or there isn't going to be any point. We'll be too busy standing in bread lines to care who attacked us.
Two-thirds of Pakistanis support Afghanistan over US: poll AFP Islamabad, September 19 More than two-thirds of people in Pakistan think their government should side with Afghanistan rather than the United States if Washington attacks the neighbouring country, a Gallup poll said Wednesday. The survey is another sign of the risk President Pervez Musharraf has taken in offering Pakistan's full support for the United States war on terrorism following last week's devastating attacks in New York and Washington. Gallup said the snap poll of 500 people showed 85 per cent believed a US strike against Afghanistan, where terror suspect Osama bin Laden lives under the wing of the ruling Taliban militia, was imminent. While 32 per cent of people supported Musharraf's decision to lend Pakistan's support to the United States, 62 per cent opposed it. Only seven per cent said Pakistan should side with the United States if Washington attacks Afghanistan, while 27 per cent advised neutrality and 63 per cent said it should side with Afghanistan. "The survey findings show that Pakistanis make a sharp distinction between the right to seek extradition and the right to make military strikes," Gallup said in a statement. "It is interesting to note that in 27 out of 29 countries where this global survey was carried out by Gallup International, majorities opposed military strike." Pakistan has seen days of vocal protests from religious groups against possible US attacks on Afghanistan and Pakistan's promised cooperation. |
WRONG. Their god is our number one ememy, better known as Satan. They DO NOT worship the God of the Holy Bible, but rather the god of the false prophet Mohammed.
Um, is't that what this is about? Aren't we trying to speed them on thier way to allah for his Infinate Justice?
