I have created a new site that documents what occured on September 11, 2001 and many of the details surrounding it and the days right after. I did it for two reasons:
Here are a few of the more than 200 pictures that are spread out on nine web pages at that site:
Click on any of the links below to visit the various pages on the site:
Not at all! Just pointing out that, based on my personal experience, you will most likely receive a phone call from the Associated Press threatening legal action if you do not remove the photos.
It is spreading on its own
So were the Elian photos. Lots of people got the same threatening call I did.
No profit is intended, and no attempt is being made to do anything but share information that is already out there.
Catch is that AP (or whoever) owns the photos, and the company exists to make a profit off them. The photos are not public domain. AP takes its ownership of its intellectual property seriously.
If a bunch of lawyers come after me, I will talk to my own and follow there advise.
I'd like to hear the story after it happens.
I will aslo find it incredibly sad.
As did I when it happened to me.
I'm not grinding an axe. I'm giving you a heads-up before they hit you.
Thanks for the ping John.
I've been searching for good survivor accounts, you provided them. I am again furious. I wish your site linked me to the red button so I could push it.
Did some more updating tonight.
Added Bush's fine speech and also set up a pull down menu format for the links.
Archie ... I know exactly what you mean.
God bless America!!!!!
Regards, Eric
I don't know who all is spreading the word of the site, or what other sites it is linked to, but it took 20,000+ hits yesterday.
However it is occurring, I am glad the word is getting out.
It has taken on a life of its own since then.
I reaaly enjoed the President's speech. I'll BUMP you on a thread I posted last night of the entire transcript.
Stay well down there!
God bless America
Site has continued to take LOTS of hits (up over 230K now) and I have been deluged by emails.
Added a "Death and Injury Toll" page today that I will update each day. It's in the left hand pull down menu.
bttt
I have seen some horrific things here in the states and elsewhere in the world, including death and tragedy, but I cannot imagine being eyewitness to that horror, particularly those bodies raining down like that.
Yet I know insticntively that we cannot let the horror of it pass, we cannot forget what these animals did to our camrades and compatriots ... to our brother and sister Americans who were simply living their lives, going about their everyday tasks and business.
I have not posted this picture before today, but just added it to my main page. Someone had the presence of mind to take the following picture and lived to get it out.
From this angle you can clearly see the failing top portion of that tower, how it is falling a little off to the side and coming apart itself as it does. I believe the terrorists planned to take the buildings down, planned to weaken the structure enough so that the resulting fire would cause the structure to fail and then the collpasing upper floors would bring the rest down.
But the very method of their plan proved to be salvation for thousands because it took 45-60 minutes for the buildings to fail, in which time many thousands were able to escape the buildings. Had the buildings collpased immediately, we'd have 20,000+ dead I believe ... even more.
Nonetheless, for the thousands who were killed, we must keep alive in our memory and that of our descendants the horror of what occurred ... so we can deliver a just and lasting retribution to those who planned and carried out the attack as well as those who are harboring them. And, so we can keep the fire of vigilance and liberty burning brghtly for the generations to come.
