I'd sure want her in my foxhole covering my butt < /sarcasm>
What a self-centered, shallow, selfish b*tch!!!
The only reason her generation has it's Freedom is because of previous generations who DID give up our dreams and to die for our country. We will be asked to leave our loved ones, to leave our educations and to die alongside our brothers, sisters and friends.

Portland. Doesn't surprise me.

This sounds like a kid who should have had a relative on board one of those four airplanes.
(Assuming, that is, that it's even a legitimate letter to begin with.)

Another indication that women have no business in combat positions.
To: SAMWolf
Oh she'll have a good time at drill this month. Hohoho. WTF she's not in the combat arms anyways. Shut up girl. I know infantrymen right now who're literally
chuckling and praying for a chance to stick it to these murdering SOBs right now. If she were a guy and I were enlisted I'd probably sucker punch this PFC in the supply house.
She obviously needs to read The American Battle Hymn to fuel her warrior spirit.
To: SAMWolf
No problem, SW. After her stretch in the stockade, she can hang her letter of dishonorable discharge on the wall -- right next to the diploma she got courtesy of the country she refused to fight for. That ought to make her grandchildren real proud.

This is pitiful. "Gee, I just signed up for the free college degree. I didn't think you guys were rilly serious about that war junk. Can't I just go home now?"

Sorry my original response :

Should have read:
The only reason her generation has its' Freedom is because of previous generations who DID give up their dreams and died for our country. They left their loved ones, left their educations and died alongside their brothers, sisters and friends.
I was so upset by this letter I did a cut and paste and forgot to edit.

If she is sent off to fight a war, she wouldn't last long. Her own buddies would finish her. They wouldn't let her get them killed. I would hope that the Oregon Guard kicks her rear end out though.

I do recall a pledge one takes...To defend this country against all enemies foreign and domestic.

Pitiful. Along the same lines, I just heard on the radio (New York 880AM) that some people wanted to find an American flag in Portland, Oregon but couldn't locate one. If there are any Portland Oregon Freepers maybe they can tell us their eyewitness account. My town is red white and blue all over buildings, cars, houses, mailboxes, etc.

You know, women are perfectly qualified for a majority of combat positions -- some even more qualified than the men who currently hold them. Just because one woman is now feeling remorse for joining the National Guard to get a cheap education doesn't mean the rest of us are incapable.

Exactly! What did she expect?! What did she just think that it was all about getting her 'woman's rights' and the rest was easy? Or was it just to see if she could get in and screw up the rest of the military? Either way, she should have her rear kicked out.

Don't lump all military women in the same category as this coward. I served in Desert Storm with many outstanding women warriors. I carried a .38 and was ready and willing to use it if necessary. (Still am, though I'm no longer on active duty.)

Why did she join? Maybe she just figured the National Guard was just another hand-out program from the Government.

Maybe in the movies, but not in real life...
