Right on! Back during Desert Storm, there was a female medical doctor in Overland Park, Kansas who had been a member of the reserves for quite a while. When she got called up, she refused to go. She was arrested, I think, but don't know much more about it.

Your post reminded me of her. Her name was Yolanda something. She also liked getting the paychecks, but didn't want to step up when her country called. What a disgrace!

No,I'll tell you what "pitiful" REALLY is. "Pitiful" is a system that paid a friends 18 year old daughter $12,000 last spring JUST to enlist in the US Army as a supply clerk who will be stationed in Hawaii.

"Pitiful" is a system that has the money to do this so they meet their enlistment and "minority" quotas,but lacks the money to buy ammo for small arms training for the dismounted infantry,and larger ammo so the armor,artillery,and mechanized infantry can keep their skills up to the needed level of expertise.

"Pitiful" is a system where the "leaders" (gag,puke!) not only accept this crap with a "Yowsa,Yowsa,six bags full,Suh!",but also manage to ORDER those below them to make damn sure women "fit in and suceed" when assigned to formerly all-male jobs. Even when they KNOW this means people will die.

"Pitiful" is also a system that pays their people so poorly that some married CAREER people actually qualify for food stamps,while managing to find $500,000 to put "ladies rooms" on aircraft carriers.

"Pitiful" is a system that PAYS superior white career soldiers to retire early so they can promote unqualifed minorities and/or females into their jobs.

"Pitiful" is a system that now sucks so bad these same white soldiers who LOVED their jobs are so disgusted they gladly accept early retirement to keep from losing their minds in frustration.

I'll tell you one thing the senior brass has to be grateful for,though. The fact that there is absolutely no danger at all of ME becoming head of the Defense Department. They had all better get on their knees every night and be grateful for this,because if I WERE in charge,every single damn one of them that had anything to do with this nonsense or went along with it without protest would be earning their living tomorrow by saying,"Will there be fries with that,Sir?" The fact that this won't happen is my last "pitiful" comment on this subject.
