Do We Know If Any FReepers Died Alongside BKO? Is Everyone Accounted For?

The World Trade Center, the Pentagon, Fire, Rescue and Police....it seems like there would be some FReepers in there along with BKO (Barbara Olson), unfortunately.

Perhaps I'm being morbid. I've been trying not to ask this for days, but I feel like it's the crazy uncle in the attic on the website that everyone is thinking about but no one is talking about. Are there any regulars that haven't been heard from? Perhaps a mass emailing from Free Republic (sort of an electronic Roll Call) in a week or so might be in order?

I know of no Freepers, but I am sure there had to be at least a few.

I live a few miles from NYC, and I can tell you that it has hit this area hard. My town and towns around me are sleeper communities for the City.

The Amtrak and New Jersey Transit trains to NYC have three stops within a few miles apart right near us. One of these routes went directly to and underneath the World Trade Center. Passengers got off right there. Needless to say, thousands of people from my area worked in the Trade Center. EVERYONE I know either knows someone or knows of someone directly involved.....as a survivor or victim. A good friend of ours has worked in one of the Towers for over 20 years and is due to retire soon. She was not due in until 10am. She was on the train when it happened. That timing saved her life.

I am sure there are Freepers out there who witnessed this, were nearby or have a story. (Even though NYC has few Freepers per capita!)

I don't know, but I think a few FReepers might be casualties, especially in the Pentagon.

I met a guy at the FReeper Ball that worked at the Pentagon but cannot remember his FReeper (or real) name. And, although I can't name any specific names, it seems that there are some names missing from FR the last few days that are normally here. May just be my imagination though.

Working the statistics . . . .

There are five thousand dead in a nation of 270 million. That's about one per 50,000. I seem to recall hearing once that there are 50,000 registered FReepers. So the odds are that we may have lost one FReeper, but not more.

I dont know about the rest of you ,but I have alot of online friends..and if I dont hear from them for a few days I start to worry.

It might be nice if all freepers would have a designated poster from their family to let us know if something happens to them (illness or death)

Freepers are wonderful prayers ,when my grandson died I was moved by the outpouring of prayer and caring

Is FR doing something for BKO's family?
