Gephardt says "Show me your papers!"
Personal Obervation | 09/14/2001 | self

Posted on 09/14/2001 2:33:41 PM PDT by Conservative_Rob

I actually heard Dickhead Gephardt say on national TV last night that it might be time for American citizens to have to carry ID cards with them at all times. These cards would be so called "smart cards" containing all of your personal information. I thought that living in America and being an American citizen meant that we didn't have to worry about "showing our papers" to go out and about. I'm scared - really scared - not of the terrorists, but of our representatives in Washington! The plain fact that they haven't declared WAR on terrorists and the countries that harbor them yet tells me that they are stalling until the public outcry dies down so that they won't have to do anything - as usual.

I heard him say that too. I could just see the drool running out of his mouth at the thought of more goverment power and oppression.
Hillary gave a short speech and she was drooling as well. She had a whole new list of great social programs to start for the people of "her" New York.
God help America. Not from the terrorists as much as from itself!!!

Times of national crisis have always been the worst case scenario for our individual rights. While everyone is busy saluting the flag, the politicians are busy trying to bury it behind our backs.

PS...an armed citizen on each one of those planes could have prevented all of this.
Blame gun control advocates for not allowing those folks to save their own lives!!!!

The answer is that these murderers were not illegals.

They would have proper cards if this were the case.

Some people like Gephart don't know when to shut their mouth.

I saw this as well. Chilling.

Why waste time with the card DICK? Just have it printed or embedded on our forehead or hand. I know that's where you're going with it anyway.

The alleged "freedom versus security" tradeoff is a false choice.

The WTC attack did not occur because Americans have too much freedom.

It occurred because:

  1. U.S. border/immigration policy (or lack of enforcement thereof) allowed known terrorists to enter and remain in the country while attending flight school.

  2. The pilots of the hijacked aircraft, for whatever reason, were persuaded to open the cockpit doors to the terrorists.

The fact that William Cohen, Dick Gephardt and other statists propound that the only solution to terrorism is to "trade freedom for security" demonstrates that their agenda has nothing to do with either.

That is the best response I have read on this post. You are 100% correct.

Like this would help. Remember yesterday when those people dressed as Delta pilots had fake credendials? Any credential can be forged, and code broken. We need the ability do defend ourselves.

You may just have every reason to be scared. Nothing like a national distraction to greatly advance the Liberals' agenda. Our guard is let down now; they know it, and will use it to their advantage.

Bipartisanship be damned! They were not to be trusted last Monday; they must certainly be less trusted now.

Obvious to all is that Gephardt is spelled J-O-K-E.

No big Dick, what we need is to make it more difficult for evil people to operate scams and schemes such as this by obtaining FALSE passports, driver's licenses, OTHER PEOPLE'S IDENTITIES (!!!) and other legal documents. Case in point - Mail Boxes Etcetera and similar services which were used and passed-off as residential addresses by the terrorists. There have been talks recently of privatizing the Post Office of which I now completely disagree. Mail should be required to have either a REAL street address to a REAL location of residence or business or go to a Post Office box which is obviously not real estate. Leave America Free, but just make it difficult for the schemers not to leave a gallows trail back to them when they commit these heinous crimes.

No, it's not amazing about B. boxer. They put their people in key places to keep control of evidence and to share classified with the osama's. When I heard Mr. Rumsfeld speak saying the purpose of terrorism is to make war on our freedom and way of life, I knew he was talking about all the 'enemies within' which enabled the enemies without. He was disgusted. We will not surrender. Let the left dare ask.

On behalf of patriotic Missourians, I express my sincerest apology for our sending Gephardt and Carnahan to D.C.

We'll try not to do it again.

Any freedom-confiscating smart card Gephardt could concoct, would be smarter than Gephardt himself.
