Don't be so skeptical. I'm sure someone called his office and said, "Tell Meehan we think he's a boob." The staffer though the caller said, "Tell Meehan we have a bomb." Meehan, being the couragous guy that he is, is now safely tucked away with his staff in the Congressional bomb shelter where they are drinking warm milk and playing Candyland.

Dear Rep. Meehan,

I was appalled to read a quote from you in the Boston Herald.

Is it true that you believe threat the President of the United States lied with regard to terrorist threats toward Air Force One?
Did you believe that President Clinton lied when he denied having sexual relations with "that woman"?

If the Secret Service felt the President was in danger, that should be enough for the President to follow their advice.
Did you evacuate the Capital when the Capital Police said that there might be a bomb in the building?

I believe that you own the nation, the President and your constituents an apology.
Of course I am not sure how much of that I would believe since you ran on a platform of term limits and then reneged on that commitment.

It is things like this that cause people to lose faith in their elected officials.
Please support our President in this time of national tragedy.

During the impeachment of King Billy when e-mail was also at a very heavy load, that's the information I was getting from my friend (whom I've known since high school) who works as a high level staffer in Hastert's DC office. This is a widely discussed topic amongst the staffers network.

The office staff worker who answers phones also has to make notes on EVERY single phone call received, and they're usually tallying ayes and nays (that sort of thing) for the topic discussed as well. Likewise, same goes for hard copy, especially HANDWRITTEN letters that don't look like form letters or mass-printed petitions, etc.

Your right about rallying around the President, that's why on Tuesday around 10 am-ish I called all my representatives and asked for full funding of our military and intellegence communities and then I contacted all the liberal TV media cb-ass, nbc (nerd-brained communists), etc., etc. and told them to drop their liberal biased and show that WE ARE the UNITED States of America. I also said that they should choose their side carefully because WE THE PEOPLE are watching and that if they weren't going to be part of the SOLUTION then THEY are PART OF THE PROBLEM!!!

Yesterday on another thread nasty things were once again said about Floridians and Florida. I am in Florida and I am not one of the seriously mentally challenged (PB). I voted on the Butterfly ballot without a hitch. I am assuming it got counted.

Of course, the poster yesterday was on us because the hijackers went to flight school near Palm Beach, and it seems, some of them were living here. Not much any of us could do about either thing.
